Light or Oak Scooped Moulding.

I'm trying to find a supplier of a light coloured scooped moulding for a picture that has quite a lot of light blue, the light wood colour would go nicely with it and go well with other frames the customer (my Mum!) has too. Ideally somethign just under 2 inches wide, maybe 40-45mm and with a scoop ...

Re: Keencut Laser help

I'm in the same boat, just got a 2nd hand Laser 1200 and mine came with the manual. I'd definitely go with the manual rather than a video as getting it calibrated & dialled in, it's a simple process once you get the hang of it, if a little repetitive. The manual is here https://www.keencut.com/a...

Hey Gary ... welcome!

I went the other way round, I found The Grumble first and they pointed me here when I said I was from the UK :-)

Re: Mounting a ZX Spectrum.

Cool, they're both good ideas. The back is removable so the melinex wrap method would work, and as far as I know the device does still work so I would like it to be reversible ideally but they're quite a common item and it's not exactly in pristine condition now so something like removing the rubber...

Mounting a ZX Spectrum.

I'm working on a shadow box and a search of the forum reveals very little if I search for ZX Spectrum, the search ignores ZX so I just get Spectrum & they're all about the light spectrum :-) So, here's what I'm thinking. The Speccy itself is relatively heavy, I'm not sure the mylar straps would ...

WANTED: Blade sharpening in Sheffield.

I’m after a place to get my Morso blades sharpened and living in Sheffield you’d think that would be the perfect place to get them done.

Are there any places you’d recommend locally?

Does the temperature of the room and blades make any difference?

Re: I’m struggling right now.

Here’s a photo of the blades. They were stored unused for years in a basement and a garage.

There’s a lot of what looks like staining on the blades that the white spirit, steel wool and scotch pads couldn’t shift.

Is it worth having them sharpened or just skip straight to a new pair?

Re: I’m struggling right now.

Thanks for all the replies, I'm definitely going to do a more in depth course at some point when I have the money. After inesting in a couple of machines to make things easier the whole thing needs to wash it's own face as it were, anything I buy has to come out of the money I make from making frame...

I’m struggling right now.

I’ve only been making frames since September, and only as a “side hustle” for family and friends right now and I started off on a high, tight corners, sharp edges… I felt like King Frames of Framistan! But now I’m struggling. I’ve hit a bit of a trough where nothing I make is up to the standard I wo...

Re: Social Media and Advertising

That's my take too, if you sell online then you can add tracking that lets you see which sales came from which adverts or social media posts, but once the interaction crosses over into the real world you lose any of that, same for magazine, TV & radio ads etc, it's always a gut feel isn't it.

Re: FramR - unable to subscibe

50Mb is plenty fast enough. I have that at home and stream to multiple tvs simultaneously and play online games, it should be able to handle updating your subscription 😁

WANTED: The Complete Guide To Shadowboxes by Jim Miller

Lion have a paper copy in stock but I'm not planning on making any more orders till the new year and I'd really like a copy of this book for Christmas, does anyone have a copy for sale, or know of an alternate supplier that can just post regular 1st class mail?

Re: Social Media and Advertising

Do you measure how many sales you get via each channel actively, or just ask clients where they found you?

Misfiring point driver.

I’ve had a Fletcher FrameMaster for a while, and today while finishing a job off it jammed. I took it to bits and I jammed it but now it’s not firing … until it does and then again 2 or 3 come shooting out. What could be causing this? I made a video here https://youtube.com/shorts/eaM1ZHXgSDg?si=JDT...

Pronunciation

I want to go and get a print done of an old football program so I can frame it.

A couple of question ...

1) Is a giclee what I want?

2) How the heck do I pronounce it? :D Is it gishlee, gicklee, gishlay? Some mixture of all 3? I don't want to look like an idiot when I go into my local printer ;-)
