Re: Cassese CS1 Wedge Distributor Block
Thanks for taking the time to respond Mark. They are the 10.3mm width wedges in a glued strip. I will get a couple of the metal chutes and try these out.

Re: Cassese CS1 Wedge Distributor Block
Hi Mark. Thanks for responding. I am having fairly frequent misfiring issues and have already changed the blade with very little difference. I have been trying to refill the cartridges with Alfamacchine wedges and these jam fairly frequently so I often need to strip down the whole block and reassemb...

Cassese CS1 Wedge Distributor Block
This may be a bit of a long shot. I’m looking for a wedge distributor block for my CS1 Cart underpinner. Underpinner spares are sold out. Thanks.

Re: hand mitre saws
I started out with one of these Nobex typesaws following a weekend framing course after which I spent around £800 on stuff I never use now. It was ok for a while along with the small scale v nail driver that took one v nail at a time but as things developed it all became quite useless and not at all...

Re: To chop or not to chop
I agree with all on this.. I use chop for larger expensive mouldings. You are generally guaranteed that the moulding will be flawless and they always arrive in good nick. Am I right in thinking there is one main chop service provider though, namely Lion?

Re: first floating/box frame
The Hedgehog method is very good for ‘floating’ artwork. There is a lot on here about that. Lion have also put out some useful videos on how to effectively mount in this way.

Re: First OS map coming in tomorrow....
I did a few of these OS maps recently. They are produced normally on very thin paper. If you hinge this at the top only the map will ripple, even under a mount. I eventually stuck them onto self adhesive board which was very successful and they looked fine and flat. They were too big for my roller l...

Cassese Cartridge Wedges
Hi. Just wondering if anyone a)has been able to source cartridge type wedges or b)has tried the type of metal alternative shown in the photo, and can comment on effectiveness etc. I use a CS1 Cart Underpinner but am now running out of cartridges. I have been refilling the cartridges with Alfamacchin...

Re: Pricing Software Question
Thanks very much Justin and NTG999 for taking the time to respond. I think I definitely need to sort this and will look at the settings on the software as you suggest. I’ll study the Help Section and see what I can come up with.

Re: Pricing Software Question
Thanks Justin and NTG999 for your responses. The most recent example of this was an already mounted print. I measured the artwork @ 35.5 x 25cms. Centrado moulding CO.CR3313OK. The price for the moulding came up at £33 on the pricing software. I had no mount cost obviously and the glass price came t...

Pricing Software Question
Hi. I currently use the Estlite software for pricing jobs and yesterday I was asked by a customer why I only measured the actual print rather than the whole item which already had a substantially sized mount around it. I explained that the programme automatically calculates the mount cost and takes ...

Re: The end of Cassesse
I’ve been reloading the cartridges for a while now but care is needed as they do not fire the same as the bought cartridges and often get jammed. I buy the Alfamacchine v nails for this job. There is a limit to how many times you can remove the ‘plug’ without it deteriorating. Onwards and ………..

Re: Morso blade adjustment
Justin, Can I ask what your issue with the CS1 Cart is? I bought one years ago and have used it every day since. Once I learned how to dismantle it and put it back together and work with it I haven’t had any problems whatsoever. I reversed the operation so I can pin from the back and it performs ver...

Re: Morso blade adjustment
I have had the very same issue. I agree with Steven on this. I have 4 sets of blades and only two of them cut perfectly. I spoke to the people at Mainline Mouldings who offer a blade sharpening service and they offered to check the badly cutting blades to see if they had been sharpened properly. The...

Re: Hinging, platform mount or....?
Hi. The paper doesn’t seem to have cockled with the application of water colour paints and seems more to have been curled through being in the tube. Personally I would try to reverse roll it onto a tube or, as someone posted recently, a roller blind and leave it for an hour or so. This will flatten ...

Thanks Steve.. I think I bought the machine from Wessex? I would certainly avoid Spraymount though?
