Re: Help with Pricing
Where I have difficulty with pricing is on the smaller items such as A5 or 6" x 4", do most of you charge a minimum price for something like this regardless of the moulding, say £22.00?

Re: Simons WRAP16
I use genuine Cassese wedges. I started with 10's, one close to the inner corner and 1 1/4 way from the back corner. Then still with the 10's I moved the back corner to 1/2 way. Then I tried 7's in the same places and then 2 x 5's in the same places - didn't really see any improvements. I'll give th...

Re: Simons WRAP16
Thanks Simon, The paper wrap goes all the way round the moulding, it likes very well finished - I tried cutting upside down but it didn't make any difference! Which ever way I cut I can't detect any rocking, front and back faces seem pretty flat. If I place the two mitres together they look good, it...

Simons WRAP16
Does anyone else have any problems joining Simons WRAP16? It's an MDF based paper wrap that's 25mm across the front face and 20mm deep. It cuts on my Morso without any problems but when I come to underpin (CS88) I just can not get a good join it either gaps on the front inner corner or on the back e...

Re: mounting a vinyl LP
I like the idea of the display in a shadow box Robo, would look good in the window. I prefer the reverse bevel method, holds the record nicely without any contact to the actual playing area. As you say CD's are easy with the centre's from Lion. I cut a circle and square in foam board, cover this wit...

Re: Hot Press / Dry Mounting
Hi John, A hot press is next on my list but at the moment I don't have the capital or the space :!: I did some hot press dry mounting on my initial training and I've spent the day at Hot Press in Bristol with Steve Goodall, definitely see the advantages of having the kit but I must live and drink as...

Re: Cockling and creases
Thanks Prospero and Robo,
I was going to look at using a hot press without any adhesive sheet to see if just the temperature and vacuum gave any benefits and the said items has been under a load for the past 36 hours, I wouldn't be brave enough to use damp blotting paper
Regards
Paul

Hot Press / Dry Mounting
Anyone in the North Worcestershire or South Birmingham area got a hot press?
Could we come to a working agreement where you do my hot press work for me at a mutually agreeable price?
Please PM me if you can.
Thanks in advance
Paul

Cockling and creases
The floods have now opened so expect more questions... Had an elderly couple come in yesterday with a signed watercolour or gouache, portrait of two dogs. It was in a bit "dog eared" ; frame badly damaged, no glass and the picture was masking taped onto the filthy window mount and i...

Re: Water, water!
Thanks for the reply Adam, I think I'll follow your suggestion with the Correx and frame sealing tape. No disrespect to you but I'm a bit disappointed that none of the more "Senior" member haven't contributed with their years of knowledge :?: Especially as the forum seems to have been a bi...

Water, water!
I do a lot of reading on this forum but not much posting, so here goes... I have a large (92cm x 64cm), signed, limited edition (50) print to frame. The artist has provided the mount; the window mount is 2mm thick, the back mount 1.4mm, the two pieces of mountcard are hinged along the top. No identi...

Re: Equipment for new set up wanted
I think he meant he'd seen it on ebay, there's a Flectcher 2200 mount cutter, a Cassese CS-88 underpinner, Morso F and load of bits and pieces. Not advertised very well as they've only priced the Fletcher but might be worth contacting them. They're in Stoke on Trent, not quit as far as Scotland but ...

Re: Wanted ornate Picture Frame for image 16"x24
Any size frame can be made by a bespoke framer and you have in excess of 6000, 7000, 8000 different frame mouldings to choose from modern to "old" to hand finished. Take the picture into a frame shop and ask!
