Re: Sloping back edge on moulding

Looking at the profile and wood type I suspect I know the supplier of these two mouldings. I too have had difficulty cutting and joining them, if they are what I think they are! The wood itself, the density, varies considerable in a 3m length and is generally of poor quality IMHO. The back continual...

Mount for a Picture Disc

Anyone around the Glasgow area could frame the attached 10" single which instead of being round is like a circular saw with jagged teeth, so the top mount would need to be cut on a CMC. Got a friend who lives up that way looking to have the disc framed so I'd like to direct to someone who can d...

Re: Frame design mental block

Rather than Black, which always looks a little flat to me, I'd use the Arqadia Onyx black core. Onyx has a nice sheen to it, much deeper than a flat black.

Frame wise either a nice shiny black aluminium or maybe shiny silver aluminium, probably the black.

Thank you and good night!

Reported in ABT :( FOLLOWING THE gradual decrease in size of the art and framing hall at Spring Fair International, it has been announced that from 2015 this will no longer be a discrete sector. Companies selling artwork and framing will be in the newly branded HOME area of the show. In 1990 the art...

Re: my second problem of the day!

How about an aluminium moulding, I'd guess that the likes of Arqadia and Neilson have the extruded lengths longer than the normal 3m of wooden moulding.

Re: Massive Print Sale Clearance - Everything £1.00!!

Meant to say that I went over to Telford and was astounded at how many prints of all sizes and styles the guys have, all excellent quality.

Well worth a visit but do allow plenty of time to search through the multiple racks and rows, it's not a 5 minute job!

Nice bunch of guys as well.

Re: Drum Head

The sticks for the above job were also a re-frame. The original framer had used double side tape the length of the sticks, the sticks fell off the backing the first night the frame was hung! Customer took the frame back and had it re-done, this time the "framer" stapled Velcro onto the sti...

Re: Drum Head

I recently did sticks and a head but seperate frames, signed by different drummers. For the head I cut a circular bevel on foam board, very slightly larger diameter than the internal of the head. Glued the foam board to crimson suedette, gentle forced the head over the reverse bevel. Finished off wi...

Hi Justcat,

I call into Lion on a regular basis and would be happy to pick up a copy for you and put it in the post, should be cheaper than minimum delivery cost.

PM me your details if you interested.
