Re: Non-45 degree cuts on a Morso..
It's all becoming a bit too real, Pete. Gotta admit, the whole thing scares me a fair bit. The more I read and learn from you guys & gals and books etc, the more I realise there's a LOT more to this than nicely joining four sticks. I already knew there was, but there is a whole LOT more. People ...

Re: Non-45 degree cuts on a Morso..
Fantastic links - thanks again, Justin (and to everyone who's pitched in here)
Quite a legendary piece of kit, isn't it. Bit of a thrill to now actually own one....or at least be its custodian for - hopefully - a good while.

Re: Window display
Hi Don, Though you might not sell specific items from the windows, I bet people come in because it's a great advert for what you are capable of. Maybe you could put more moulding chevrons/mountboard samples etc in the window....to whet people's appetite and get their imagination going, regarding wha...

Re: Non-45 degree cuts on a Morso..
Sorry folks - I wasn't being clear: I was just curious whether framers on here ever did non-45 degree cuts on their green goddess. Being told of the mare that framer I knew had getting his Morso back to 45 degrees made me wonder if you guys concurred. If I ever had to do a hexagonal or whatever, I t...

Non-45 degree cuts on a Morso..
Morning all, If you're ever asked to produce frames with cuts that are not 45 degrees, do you have any qualms about doing it on the Morso (e.g. would you instead send it out for chop, or do it on another bit of kit?)? Reason I ask is a framer I did a tiny bit of work with said he once had all sorts ...

Re: Mouldings/mountboard to practice on...
Great stuff, everyone  Thanks, David. I got the pack of mountboard, thanks...minus Phil Leotardo's 'taste' Seriously, your post has been cut and pasted into my ongoing word doc. of 'gold dust' tips & advice... thank you so much for that. Mountcutter is a 40 inch Bainbridge 4060A Supe...

Re: Mouldings/mountboard to practice on...
Thanks prospero.....I trust my monster frame is finished! I got a decent amount of moulding with the Morso (seller was kind). Let's see how I get on with the suppliers for the mountboard....I'll go down their bins if needs-be. Anyway, might be a good thing if I have to pay for the mount...

Thanks Steve and Beatnik - great advice.
Pete, if I can't get any off suppliers, I may darken your inbox (so to speak ). Thanks again, mate.

Re: Mouldings/mountboard to practice on...
God bless you Pete, but it's far too heavy to post....I won't hear of it. Plus I don't want to become the forum freeloader.....Dave has already very kindly sent me a few 'trial' wedges for the Morso underpinner I'm getting. If it comes to it, I'll have to break into my wallet and get some el cheapo ...

Mouldings/mountboard to practice on...
Evening all, Right, got the Morso and a mountcutter (mountcutter thread coming, no doubt!). Just wondering where you good folk got your mountboard & moulding to practice on? I've got some moulding - and I always keep an eye out for cheap/discarded frames I can butcher(!). Mountboard feels tricki...

Re: Morso spanner and.....
Thanks, John.
Any thoughts on the spanner? Is it OK to use a normal box spanner (can't think of correct name) for blade removal etc? (As a new Morso. spanner can be £25 PLUS vat )

Morso spanner and.....
Good afternoon, playmates. Picked up the Morso F yesterday - looks a beaut (touchwood). As you do, I put the pedal right down/did the bolt up.....to keep the blades out of the way in transport. It's not going to be used for a while (up to a month), so is it OK to leave it like this? Or should I retu...

Re: Cutting glass
Hi Dave, I've had a tiny bit of experience of the 4000 - loved it. Like most good framing equipment, it's designed to do one thing - and do it brilliantly well. As you probably know, it cuts glass, mountboard to size, and all backers - inc MDF. What I especially like is how true and straight cuts ar...

Re: Any Virgin Broadband users out there?
Ta Jules. PlusNet reckon £50 to re-instate phone line (much cheaper than I thought). They do normal broadband (like you and I have) plus unlimited UK calls & 300 international minutes for 28 quid p/m. Neighbours seem well chuffed....thanks all for the info & help. Right, that's my goo...
