Re: led frame
I framed a stained glass window recently, and to try to get rid of hot and cold lit spots I used the led strips on their side, fixed to a sheet of mirror acrylic and covered with a sheet of white vinyl coated acrylic. Looked the biz.

Re: Ipad quote button
I left the no quote group. Quoted a single post. Was put back in the naughty group. Left the group. Was unable to see any posts at all. Rejoined the no quotes group.
All seems overly complicated to me.
I just want to be able to quote occasionally.

Re: Ipad quote button
I thought you were pulling my leg!
Why would there be a "no quotes" group, and why would I be in it? Am I a serial offender?

Re: Taking Card Payments with iZettle ?
Dodgey how chris? They are the 4th largest in us and 6th largest in Europe. I have had no problems with them, their call centre was in Ireland, their rates seem competitive, my dosh is in my account in max 3 days. Their online system is very efficient for getting statements, breakdown of transaction...

Re: Safe method of standing RMF's on shelving
If you use a router mat it won't need sticking down. They stay put on their own

Re: Safe method of standing RMF's on shelving
Black router mats are great, we use them to assemble on, and on the surface of our "waiting" pile to stop any sliding.

Re: Mountcutter Wars: Keencut v Valliani
I wouldn't buy either! I'd use the money to get a good second hand valliani mat pro 120 with squaring head. You won't be sorry. My fletcher sits gathering dust.

Re: chop service
I very rarely look at individual prices and compare chop against length- I only do it as an exercise from time to time to make sure I'm making an adequate profit on a job. We charge our customer length price, using our usual mark-up and wastage factor, which more than compensates for the extra cost...

Buy it, buy it, buy it!
When you get bored with it/ buy a bigger one then sell it to me.
I don't even know what I'd do with it, but I want one.

Re: chop service
It's sod's law that the next frame in that expensive Arqadia moulding is a bit bigger than the off-cut you have ... so you buy another single length but that's a slightly different finish... so you have to buy another length ... at least you know where you stand (financially) with CHOP I suppose. T...

Re: chop service
The cost per metre might be more for chop, but the profits to be made are higher too. Is that not what a successful business should be doing? Making profit. We are. Business is booming and customers keep coming back so we must be doing something right. Can you run the numbers through for me? Do you...

Re: chop service
Fresh from reading this interesting thread I've just priced up a frame that came in today in a fairly expensive arqadia moulding (737071000 at £6.57 per m length or £9.20 per m chop) Frame is 780mm x 1040 mm. 2 x 3m lengths - £39.42 1x chop - £35.62 So save about £4 on the chop, but get about 2m of ...
