Re: Happy New Year

Wishing all Forum Members a Happy New Year (albeit a tad belatedly  ).

In particular, I wish that financially it will be a much kinder year for all than 2009.

Beannnachtai na Nollag

Hi all, Despite the fact that I've not been well enough to contribute regulary here for the last 6 months or so, you are always in my mind and heart. Being so poorly, I have not been able to send out any "real" Christmas cards this year, so I'm sending you an E-card instead. Wishing you al...

Re: Doom & gloom on the high street?

It's appallingly quiet in NCW. Given that it's the last shopping week before Christmas, if anything there are fewer cars on the road than during the many quiet months the town has had during the past 12 months (as best I know, given that I've been 'housebound' for nearly 6 months now). For the coupl...

Attention Cork-based Framers

Hi,

Are there any Cork-based framers that offer needlework lacing services to customers? If so, can you let me know ASAP.

Thanks in anticipation.

Thanks for remembering me on my birthday, chaps! Had a nice restful day (a luxury for me!).

Here's hoping by the time the next one rolls around that things will be much better. :) :puss:

Ah, the memories!

Remember when one had to wait for the telly to warm up? And the little spinning graphics between adverts?

New premises looks dead posh, J! It seems to have a lovely spacious and airy feel to it. Congrats to yourself and Sarah for getting up and running so quickly.

Wishing you both continued and increasing success in your swanky new location.

With stock mouldings where the machining tolerances are reliably tight and where there's negligible variation in finish, experience has led me to do the same thing.

Re: Grumble Technical Problems?

That may be true, John. But in terms of value, the general quality of your posts probably outweighs the quantity of the posts created by the garrulous Paddy puisín and that insolent Lincolnshire upstart (you know who you are :P ) put together! ;) Reverential libations being stockpiled here in eager ...

Another fantastic example of how valuable the sharing here can be, Mark! I would never have thought of such a clever strategy in a month of very wet Sundays! :)

Re: How much does the best cost?

Before I became a framer, I got work done by a business that was definitely better than the bad lot. The people who actually carried out the framing (cf. the people who owned/ran the business, and who also took most of the orders) trained their staff to hinge paper-borne art using double-sided tape ...
