Re: Wanted Cassesse S89, CS20 Cart or possibly CS299, CS200

I have a very nice second hand Cassesse S89 along with a Bambi (silent) compressor plus many extras and masses of Cassesse wedges/v nails.
All the original paperwork is included. :D

The total price is £800 collected.

Regards.

Re: Moulding for sale

Is there any bare wood profiles? If so how many lengths?

Have you got a figure in mind for the complete lot or are you looking for offers?

Thanks.

Re: Drymounting or selfadhesive board

When I set up my second framing workshop after a very long break one of the first purchases I made was online from "Allposters" including some large cheap posters "Tiger in Snow", "Dinosaurs", "17th Century World Map", " "Hogsmead", "London...

Re: Double sided Football Shirt Frame

Hi Framie, Thank you so much for that, more help than you realize :D I've never thought of slots in the spacers for the foamboard in fact, I've never seen that method before either on youtube or in a book :!: can't wait to try it. I can see shirts could be done single sided as well as d/sided using ...

Re: Double sided Football Shirt Frame

I've just framed an enormous Rugby shirt signed all over including the sleeves  I needed to place the former/template in two pieces and then join inside. Scarecrow shape type thing. As the customer wanted to see both sides It was framed along the lines of Steve N (no where near as classy thou...

artframer, your conclusions sound like a good plan :D It's obvious you are determined to make frame making a success and this forum is a great and unique resource in achieving this as framing courses and books can be. Many of us older framers started joining our frames by "side pinning". N...

prospero wrote "Obeche is maybe the nicest wood for hand-finishing" I completely agree. As well as diluted fine surface filler there are other ways to fill the pores. Once again, hats off to you NYAF for achieving a finish using Parana Pine that's a wood I gave up on years ago :oops...

Re: Cleaning black high gloss moulding, spray ?

I use a lot of Wessex 1" square gloss black and I like it :D as it's prone to flaws and marks I go and collect to check it over. In my workshop I too use cotton gloves and a microfiber cloth but the guys at Wessex seem to get good results with a little spit and the corner of their tee shirt :sh...

Re: Supplier practices, do they all do it ?

Judging by the helpful replies to you question the answer appears to be "yes". I agree with the opinions that receiving extra moulding overcomes the problem of dings, flaws, matching up lengths and measuring/cutting mistakes :o I do not stock much in the way of FF mouldings and often sell ...

Re: Supplier practices, do they all do it ?

The question asked in the OP has been posed on this FF in the past always by peeps "fairly new to framing". In my view, completely understandably. The first reply from pramsay13 was IMHO an excellent explanation as to why  If my location was Beds. I too would use Arqadia for moulding...
