I'm in a slightly different situation down here in Dorset but I would be slightly cautious about moving to East London if your main customers are in West London. At the moment I've got a majority of 'off the shelf' moulding samples, but I'm slowly increasing the number of hand finished ones. It seems a no brainer to me to buy a minimum number of profiles in bare wood in bulk, then hand finish them. You're then offering unique moulding but at a cheaper price....

I know Wessex Pictures do a couple of wormy type mouldings which have an antique sort of look - A109, B1057, B1176.

Another option might be to attack a plain wood moulding with a dremel and hand finish it.

An efficient woodburner should be great for a workshop. You could also get one with a backburner and rig up some radiators - the heat can go where you want it then.
