Re: Attractive window displays

It looks terrific. I`m not surprised it pulls in customers. Where would you store the props if you have several themes throughout the year?

cmc and graphic tablet

Anyone with a cmc, do you use a graphic tablet to produce designs for cutting? Which combinations of cmc and graphic tablet work/ don't work? What picture file format do you use? Any cmc noticeably better/ worse with graphic tablet?

Re: Why is good framing so important?

It`s like a disappointment and a distraction at the same time. Someone dressed to the nines, all made up, groomed and ready to go ........with a large piece of cabbage sticking out between their front teeth.

Re: Wire broke on several frames

Ah. I`m beginning to see the light. Thank you, Robo and David. Vectors, tensile strength, etc.. The crane thing seems to me to be a different thing - distance x load = moment - which is rotational.

Re: Wire broke on several frames

Where did all this "science" come from? Force equals mass x acceleration. The picture is not increasing in mass and gravity is constant in most people`s living rooms. The picture is stationary so there is no kinetic energy or impact strain. In short...

Re: Wavy edge / cockling problem

If I take the frame apart, use barrier board as suggested, fire points to allow more "movement" - I am minimising the chance of further cockling. Any more ideas on what to do with the art/paper while it is temporarily out of the frame?

Wavy edge / cockling problem

Lovely couple came back today some art I had framed for them. Art is pen and ink sketch of a model standing and the other is a model sitting. Both pen sketches are on orange sugar paper. It is the kind of paper schools used to use to cover display boards before putting up children`s work. The first ...

After choosing mountboard colour, cut to mount to glass size, plan position of items, pencil outline within "footprint" of item, cut out pencil lines with stanley knife, glue mountboard with holes to mdf (3mm? 5mm?), allow to dry, no more nails in mount board spaces ie mdf, place items in ...

Filletmaster or FilletPro Measure & Cutter

I am looking to buy equipment to measure and cut fillets. New things to offer customers and bring in work. If you had to choose, which one and why? Filltetmaster? Filletpro Measure & Cutter? In the near future, I`ll need to cut a couple of fillets upto 130cm long. After that I guess they wouldn`...

Suggestions for similar moudling and fillet

Customer sent this photo with email explaining that the delivery people broke the frame which was sent from USA. The moulding and mount slip are from Arqadia but UK Arqadia don`t have this range. Can anyone suggest a similar moulding with a matching fillet? I visit the client on Monday and need to o...
