Re: Watching TV.
Talking about programs from European countries what about "Wallander" incredible scenery, acting and riveting story lines. Peter, once again thanks for the info' about updating links. I will try it out. Mark, I take my hat off to you for not having a TV and spending time reading. I intend ...

Re: Another frame
5ft x 3ft...that'd scare the life out of me! No need to be scared of over sized framing work as long as you have the necessary work space otherwise these large jobs will clog up your workshop. These days I don't get many jobs that size but when I do there is an upside. Firstly, it was a stacked fra...

Re: Another frame
That's a good example of turning an every day moulding in to something special    It's one of the few moulding I buy these days by the 100ft because it is popular and good quality and a good price. Like you, I use it in a number of ways including stacking with small and large gold ...

The Virginian and Bonanza - now your talking  Little Joe was over 6ft tall and he was the shortest of the three brothers  Peter, I am soooo envious of the way you upload this stuff. Would you teach me how to do it? it should only take a month or three before I get my head around it ...

Re: To bole or not to bole
Absolutely beautiful, and thanks for the pictures. I would not mind a look at the brighter frame behind
Regards the mirror glass, I would think twice before I replaced it. FWIW I find my customers prefer the original.

Re: Watching TV.
Thanks for the heads regarding the "Talking Pictures" channel, I loved Callen. I never would have found it as I've only got as far as channel 41  and now I will be looking out for "Man in a Suitcase" just to hear the opening music. :) and to watch the star stand his cigarett...

Re: Another frame
I like both examples
Being very nosey, it would be interesting to know the cost of the two frames. Not that I suggest, for one moment, prices are quoted.

Re: newbie advise needed - canvas framing
I mainly use mirror plates these days and not offsets. They come in many sizes and being malleable can be shaped as required. I buy on line in small quantities. Marks excellent point about adding a sloping slip is well worth considering for the reasons he mentions. If more depth is required I add so...

Nice one Ricky but it's not a good idea to store moulding out side the shop as peeps can't see in the window

Re: Restore / Repair Very Old Frames?
I'm just giving them the contact details and keeping out of it - no idea what budget they have in mind! Not much point me getting involved as well, just said I'd ask around as a favour to my friend who works at the school. In this case that is exactly the approach I would take. BTW thanks for the l...
Re: gesso
I have never heard of Des Pronto but will investigate. As for Milliput, brilliant stuff, easy to use and has a multitude of uses. I would highly recommend it.
