Re: Mountboard Storage Solutions

We use the pigeon hole solution under a bench as mentioned previously but keep the 3 x 4 footish boxes the mountboard is delivered in for storage in those holes you can then pull the whole box out at any time to get to any offcuts pushed to the back Takes a while to build up a stock of them but keep...

Re: Reversing a bodged float mount?

if it's double sided tape, sometimes lighter fluid will loosen it but very carefully and in small amounts if it's stuck all the way around do as prospero says, you can pick away the fomecore and take the rest off after we mount work onto fomecore and cotton rag board but only fine spots with a cellu...

Re: working from home with visiting customers

Re: A lesson to be learnt, one way or another

Steve's right best wait we have done this before and it didn't pan out as well as hoped. you are hoping that the artist has measured correctly and assuming it is square, plus allowing for the folds as mentioned before may be tight on time but will be even tighter if your frames are wrong and you hav...

Re: Framing without glass

I agree with Graysalchemy and Prospero don't compromise your skill level but do try and push the speciality glass if the paper (picture) is not a good grade of paper, acid free or cotton based , leaving open to the air will probably increase the action of the lignin within the paper and degrade a lo...

Re: More Horse's Doovers

Re: Discontinued Wessex Frinton (WF) moulding required

Re: large mirror frame commission

beautiful work Geoff

I make things like this too and the time in them is sometimes unaccounted for as there is a real love of creating the end result.

I may be better off being a plumber!!!

Just framed an albino stuffed badger.
