Re: I'm glad I can't paint this good!

Yup .... that's possible.
But a windblown newspaper lying in the gutter says nothing - just rubbish - whilst a painting of that very same subject hanging in a gallery can ooze social comment on a number of levels - so there are definable parameters whether we like it or not.

Re: Garden Mirrors

I have done numerous outdoor mirrors and have five of my own, 3 of which get full weather treatment - rain wind sun the whole toot - BUT I used a synthetic moulding, not wood because wood is no good here. (7cm flat synthetic which I painted and sealed to work with the surroundings) Ran a bead of sil...

Re: What black filler?

dash of cake flour + dash of pva glue = dash of black acrylic paint : mix into a thickish paste . I normally apply the paste with the finger and wipe off excess with a damp paper towel ( the 'dough' sets rock hard - used this 'dough' for small kids 30yrs ago when teaching art and my wife still has a...

Re: morso pushing problem

I took in four sets of blades for sharpening (including one reversible set) and when I got them back they were all stuffed up and performed like this - pushing the moulding outwards at the last trim - I eventually took some abrasive paper, stuck it to a thick piece of mirror lying flat on the work b...

Re: Floating panel

cold laminate the image to the Acrylic How is this done, if I may ask - I have looked at the Diasec method of floating a print ( it has to be done by a printing company ) but is prohibitively expensive Diasec - the print is laminated to the perspex with a silicone adhesive and this is then laminate...
