Re: Cutting large sheets of glass by hand
I have a carpet tucked away in the corner that is brought out for cutting sheets of glass. I just place it on the floor then use a 5ft T square, score the glass using a SILBERSCHNIT cutter then just run a steel rule under the score and hey presto two pieces of straight edge glass. In the beginning i...

Re: Packaging for Shipping/Delivery
We ship frames and mounts out most days throughout the country also using double walled cardboard and polystyrene around the edges. A lot of our cardboard is from the bridal shop next door though we do occasionally buy 48"x48" sheets in but quite expensive. We also use Parcel Force after t...

Double Sided Frame
I've had someone in the shop asking for a coin and text to describe it to be mounted and framed in a double sided frame (glass both sides). Having never done this before I'm looking for advice as to the best way to do it. Customer wants plain wood (oak or ash) Also no idea on price for this sort of ...

Re: Wizard web site
Ours is due next week, really looking forward to the challenge.
Had the software for a while and that seems reasonably straight forward but will see when the machine arrives
how big a learning curve it is.

Re: Packaging materials
We have tried most of the carriers and to be honest Royal Mail seem to be the best with hardly anything damaged, lost or stolen. One we will never use again is Yodel, out of six packages two arrived smashed to smitherines, they were each for different customers! One conignment spent three days sat i...

Re: Providing Work Experience
We have had three work experience kids in our studio The first one was very pleasant but a little shy. She seemed quite interested in photography and was keen to help. The second one was an absoloute star who was at the shop before we were on a morning and to be honest I would have employed her. She...

Re: Help - Large format (A3+ min) scanner
We have an A4 Epson V750 scanner which when we get big stuff in we just scan in bits then stitch it all back together in Photoshop. Up to now no one has ever notced and to be honest when it's done I struggle myself to see where the joins are as they become invisible so anyone in your area with an A4...
