Yet another moulding ID test for you all!

Yup - another of these 'can you do me another one of these' customer requests.... This frame is at least seven years old, and looks to be made from a plain 'Rose & Hollis' style moulding which has been given the liming wax treatment, but I might be wrong. It's 70mm wide (parallax errors in the p...

Re: Customers... customer being awkward.

I wouldn't redo them without seeing the 'damage' either first hand, or from a photograph taken BY THE PHOTOGRAPHER - not the final customer. Proviso for re-doing the work would be that the original canvasses would have to be returned at the same time as the replacements were collected. No return, no...

Re: Moulding ID

When I mentioned that there would likely be a 'long' delay in obtaining an exact match from the suppliers, the customer said - "Oh god, not again, could you reframe this one as well in something else?" So I bit my lip before accepting the additional order........

Moulding ID

HI I know this might sound a bit cheeky (especially if there's anyone from Heartbreak Publishing here) but does anyone know what this moulding is. The print size is approx 20" x 16", so at a guess the moulding's around 45-50mm? I have a customer who would like another print (not a Vettrian...

Re: cutting double mounts

Using that method, wouldn't the double sided tape in step 4 mark the upper surface of the cutout of the bottom mount.....? Actually, on further thought, (and replying to my own question), since whatever happens to that piece in a later life, as long as you stick it ONLY in the middle, chances are yo...

Re: cutting double mounts

I use strips of liftoff tape placed carefully around the edge of the upper mount 'window'. This has the benefit that you don't mark the undermount in any way, so whatever size your cutout it will be usable if needed. Since I use a Keencut mount cutter, I always cut the undermount about 2-4mm smaller...

Help - Epson Stylus Pro 9600

As per the subject really - has anyone got one of these printers who wouldn't mind a quick phone call? I've just got one second hand and could do with a sounding board . If you're within an hour of East Yorks I'd come to you for a brief chat if that was OK. Don't worry - you wouldn't be taking on a ...

Re: recognise this moulding?

Sorry I can't be more certain, but that looks to me like two mouldings (or one large black moulding and, as you say, a slip). I made up a similar large burgundy one with a gold slip like this just last week......

Slightly off topic, I need some material

I know it's a long shot, but I'm looking for a decent supplier of 100% (or near) polyester microfibre cloth, suitable for teatowels. I'm aware that teatowels are normally made from linen and/or cotton, but I need a polyester fabric, or at least a 50% polyester cotton mix. If anyone has any contacts ...

Re: Canon Large Format Printer - Engineer Needed

I'm NOT looking for work, BUT - these printers are all fairly modular, and any half decent PC field engineer (if such peeps still exist) should be able to help IF you have a copy of the service manual....... As stated elsewhere, I'm in the market for another large format printer, and there's often V...

Re: Large Format Printing

I used to print mountboard on my old Canon too - so that's another tick in the Epson box. Thanks for the heads-up about the HP range though - I didn't know that.

Large Format Printing

I've decided it's time to get another (replacement) large format printer. Can anyone recommend, through personal experience, anything OTHER than Epson or Canon? I have first hand experience of both brands, having owned and used a Canon ipf6100 and Epson 9900, and either will do the job, but I do kno...

Heh - I must just be used to it now - regularly used to stretch and staple canvasses simply by hand with a staple gun, sometimes up to 40 per day.

My hands are knackered now though......

Next model up from CS79

Hi I'm looking for a new underpinner, and have used the CS79 for the last few years without problem. Obviously the next model up in the Cassese range would be the CS88, but if I were to widen my horizons to Alfa, Inmes Framers corner etc, which models would offer something extra. I don't NEED pneuma...
