Re: Setting up a Facebook page anyone ?
Facebook is only as good as the content you supply, having a photo lab provides excellent content... Exactly Right! You want lively but relevant content, and you want to keep things fresh! Granted, you can leave the garden unattended for a couple of weeks, but you will find a few weed...

Re: This year I MUST get my Logo on my car !
...When getting our shop sign done I asked the sign company what colour is best for the background to make sign stand out the best and white was their answer, unfortunately my car is black but after seeing yours I might get it done anyway. Darren, As Rolf has illustrated, a black car definitely wil...

Re: Newbie Facebook page
Shaun, Welcome aboard! Nice FB page...and nice looking framing presentations. I agree with Johnny2 about the Cover photo in that it should reflect more finished framed artwork rather than equipment. Where's the link to your website? A good FB Page is nice and it should work in support and with a goo...

Re: Payment upfront?
Try ordering anything bespoke without making a deposit or paying it completely upfront? A suit, a piece of furniture, custom draperies? With custom framing, because we love what we do so much, we often don't apply good and normal business practices to the equation. We ask for a deposit on all custom...

Re: Selling Online
Ryan, Generally speaking, bespoke framing does NOT lend itself to online sales. Yes, I am aware of some exceptions, but for the most part, most Internet based sales are mounts and pre-finished, simpler frames. The choice process, What-you-see-is-not-what-you-get, shipping and packaging expenses will...

Re: Pricing Software
Grahame is correct in that the U.S. POS software companies that cater to the framing industry tend to have more comprehensive products. They typicallly are more expensive also. LifeSaver as well as SpecialtySoft and FrameReady each have about a third of the North American users according to some sur...

The Dennis Mathewson frames are supplied by Direct Moulding in North America and they typically exhibit at the WCAF Show in Las Vegas each January. We show a few of these profiles (chop service) as well as their readymade photo frames (strut back frames) http://www.theframeworkshop.com/ProdImages/PD...

Well I think they are more or less the same, most probable made under license... ...Both companies have a close working relationship Absolutely FALSE. The Fletcher-Terry F-2200 is made by Fletcher. The Valiani Astra is made in Italy by Valiani. It originally had a wooden base and like many Valiani ...

Artwork / Artist Identification
Throwing this out in an effort to assist a friend in the UK who owns this small (4x6 inch) pastel on board. It probably dates to 1930-40's but could be a little older. The friend acquired it from her mother in the Czech Repulic and the artist was perhaps German. It appears to be in the "Ernest ...

Just curious... How many vendors ended up exhibiting?
How many attendees walked the show?
How many seminars were offered?

Re: PFM - Dimensional Fabric Mounts
Hi Trinity, I believe that the author of this article, David Lantrip was trying to be extremely generic with this article which appears in the September issue of PFM Magazine. We have honestly done Embossed matting for over 30+ years, and typically use double thick mountboard, along with a PVA Adhes...

Re: Las Vegas Frame Show Jan 2013
Robo, I think you should organize a Tour Group of framers from Ireland and the UK for the show next year. You get two-three dozen to attend, and sign up on your package deal, and you are golden! For those interested, since John (Roboframer) visited, the show has moved into a nicer facility. C...
