Re: Framing equipment for sale morso underpinners glass cutter extras Elderslie Scotland

It's worth posting on local artist facebook pages. I've known artists snap us cheap equipment that needs a little work, to frame their own work.

Re: Framing equipment for sale morso underpinners glass cutter extras Elderslie Scotland

My advice fwiw, get it somewhere, anywhere, dry asap otherwise it'll be worth very little very soon. Moulding is often not worth anything, except for a beginner to practice on.

Re: Underpinner cs88 won't work

I suggest removing the block and silver metal "hammer", clean down regrease and put back, checking that the hammer is not damaged. If this doesn't work, try TGS repairs or Mark at underpinnerspares.co.uk. They'll be able to advise over the phone.

Sorry, not sure I understand. When we encapsulate we fold over onto itself so the magic tape never comes into contact with the artwork.
Have you tried speaking to Jan?

Re: Large, ornate frames

HAha! NYAF seems to have left the building.
I mentioned it to the mod Prospero the other day, he said yes it is one of the few things a mod can do! The other mod Steve N has officially left the building, so we're down to one.
Loutay, you could try "peterframer" he's a gilt frame dealer.

We use the PEL paper repair tape, but only on the back. Looks like the Arcare tape is the new version of the PEL tape.

What about platform mounting it with plenty of space for expansion and contraction with a spaced shadow mount on top?

Re: Framing seaweed

Anything is possible! A few dots of water based grab adhesive or even clear drying wood glue should do the trick. I wouldn't put it against the glass as the temp and humidity is bound to affect it sooner or later. Just use a spacer (as in a box frame). Warn the customer that this is bound to deterio...

I'm guessing because it's on sale?
A black paper wrapped spacer from R&H is my go to for speed.
