Re: Clamps
I have a second hand frame co, I glue and clamp then underpin while clamped. It's a great tool. Having said that, I've recently got hold of a hoffmann mu2 dovetail router, which means I've not used the clamps recently. Hoffmann have just made available a W0 router bit and keys too, for tall thin mo...

Re: Pocket hole jigs
Think the pocket hole jig screws work differently to standard screws. Like the kreg myself, just waiting for the job that needs it!

Re: Best Adhesive??
If its from a wagon, I would fix it onto some nice framed wood. The metal would need cleaning back to give a good adhesion, where required. Silicone, sticks like sh#t, gh10 ph10? Something 10 anyway. They'll all give off serious vapours... Industrial superglue? Everbuild HV50 50 g High Viscosity Ind...

Re: MORSO lubricant,
I use gt85 to stop squeaks, but will take Neil's advice on greasing lower parts. Was advised to keep blades cleaned with silicone spray to remove resins from front of blades. I use the silicone instead of lighter fluid to keep the bars on mount and panel cutters clean and smooth. Works a treat. Also...

Re: high end photo print mounting
What about paper wrapped spacers from 4mm up to 25mm I think a la rose n hollis/wessex?
I learnt that stacking archival matt paper prints without tissue between was a mistake. Simply lifting one off the top of the pile left a mark across the one below, never do that again!

Re: Double glass/sided frames
My wife puts her papercut art between 2 sheets of glass and sandwiches it with scotch or book hinging tape. No problems... so far! The work just sits there and doesn't seem to want to move.

If they can't provide a financially viable supply chain for sundries, then they'll have to cut them from their inventory...

Re: Lion deliveries - a warning
I've just ordered sundries from 6 different ebay and amazon suppliers, rather than spending out on what I don't immediately need.
I'd love to buy all my sundries from 1 or 2 wholesalers, but the minimum orders don't work in this competitive market.

Re: Best quality strap clamps
I recently got hold of a secondhand frame Co Steel band clamp from lions. It's been really great on oak moulding that's a bit warped/twisted.
I also have a set of Ulmia clamps, which work well but as was said before, leave holes that need filling.

Yes, i see what you're saying. I do like the middle one and the left one is interesting, is that Aluminium?
My mentor is into clean lines/ minimalist finish, so its good to see things outside of that box, thanks.

Re: Hoffman Dovetail Router vs Cassese Underpinner
Wow, you've used them on the front of the moulding, that's a surprise, wasn't expecting that. Looks like it might be a bit distracting to the work?
Has anyone switched over solely to a Hoffmann for their joining?

Re: Hoffman Dovetail Router vs Cassese Underpinner
Mark Yes, more than one clamp would be extravagant. Framer friend told me Titebond 3, superstrong n waterproof, so that's what in using. I'm going to have a demo on an MU2 tomorrow although I'm aiming for an xline 20. Prospero I'm getting a demo on pinning the mitres tomorrow too. Don't have a vice ...

Mark, Rose n hollis sw2724 Oak moulding, no more than 20mmx20mm, frame sizes 900mmx700mm/700mmx500mm(sorry, haven't mastered imperial yet). I'm doing them one by one now, glue and clamp overnight, underpin next morning still with framers clamp on. Seems to be working, it's just that when there's loa...
