I have a theoretical understanding of creating spines and the need to create a jig but would b...

Groglass v’s Tru Vue glass
When I first started framing I started using Groglass products and also Wessex Water White glass. A few years on and I am now using Tru Vue for AR70 / Museum glass. The move was mainly due to cost. Other than the price difference, with Groglass being more, are there any other notable difference wort...

Re: sapele moulding
That's a fantastic overview Mark, thank you. Im a big fan of the Polyvine Dead Flat varnish too, I had a brief go with a rattle can lacquer but it looked terrible. Im sure that there is a health dose of technique to what I produced too
Have a good week all.

Re: sapele moulding
Thanks again for the advice. I'm not it a made rush to source Sapele as its such a niche / limited material stock. I think the route you mentioned Nick is much more interesting and actually you end up with something much more bespoke. Out of interest what type of paints do you use. I have been using...

sapele moulding
Hi,
I have had a few customers recently asking for sapele wood frames. It's a deep brown wood similar to walnut but has a richer red / ginger element to it.
Anyone know who stocks this?
Thanks

I had an issue with my Futura mountcutter where I was getting inconsistent cuts and couldn't fathom what was going wrong. Keencut C/S team were great at offering advice but I still wasn't getti...

Thank you Mark, Graham. Graham do you add any glue, even a few 'dabs', I'm thinking about frames that are a2 / a1 +
Thanks again

Stretcher or Strainer
Happy Monday all! Need some education please ... I have a job with me that is a printed canvas (685mm x 475mm) with a 40mm margin. However within that margin is a signature and editor number that the clients wants to keep visible. That now gives an image size of 625mm x 415mm. Other than custom stre...
