Re: Blocking email addresses

John, I see your brain and body clock is still in the USA time mode! Go to to bed and get some sleep ! A tip - when you get on a plane set your watch to the time of the destination. Concentrate hard on the time there - if its night time - dont read or talk close your eyes and try to sleep. An...

Re: Mount Cutter SOLD!

Anne Marie just came and picked up the Keencut. She seemed well pleased with its little used condition. Its so nice to know that thanks to this forum a post in Wanted last Sat. makes a newbie framer happy on Tuesday. And my wife is also happy :D - I gave her the dosh! So darling - you may moan about...

Khoo, I totally agree. Most footballers are totally over paid, and too many are not good role models to the youths who admire them so much. To give you an idea how much I know about football I once sat at MAN airport having a coffee. There were 3 men at the same table - I had no idea who they were. ...

Re: Price rises

I know a smart framer in S'pore - Joe Lim - he really knows how to handle the "Can you knock a bit off" type . He works out the price, and quotes the customer, and then puts a price about 10% higher in his calculator and leaves the calculator on the desk. Joe Public asks for a "discou...

Re: Price rises

Most of us are too cheap anyway. Thats why there are no big picture framing chains, and thats why very few of us have ever had two or more shops on the go. Because we dont charge enough. : Kev is absolutely right.............it reminded me of the lovely story a local framer told me. ---------------...

.
Thanks but what view at 38000 feet?    :giggle:
Silver Cleave, I have been very lucky - the framing industry gave me the chance to see much of the world. And some of my lasting memories are from 38.000 feet.- I have seen Ayers Rock, and it still looks big from ...

G'day :) Jonathan, Down under - my favourite country! I know all the distributors and a few framers in OZ. If you want any introductions just ask. In which state are you planning on working? Or maybe a small ad in Profile - The OZ framing mag might get you a job http://www.profilemagazine.com.au/ Th...

How to answer an artist who wants to do her own framing?

An amatuer artist quizzed me over Christmas about doing her own framing. She is quite talented and has 40 plus nice paintings stuck in a portfolio. She has used a local framer but finds the £50 plus for an A2 size too expensive and that is why she wants to do it herself. She went to the local art sh...

Re: Another really useful travel/airline/hotel web site

Here's another that's good.

http://www.seatguru.com/

Nowdays many airlines give you the opportunity to select your seat when booking on line.
So with this link you can get a better seat, and avoid being over the wing if you want a view, or too near to the toilets.

Danny, Just a thought - get the 3 machines you need - chopper, underpinner and mount cutter + all the ancillary items then ask a trainer to come to you. That way you are learning on the machines you have bought. With low pound and your savings in Sterling much cheaper to buy your machinery in UK tha...
