Re: help with framing canvas

That would have worked but I'll not get a delivery this side of Christmas. But that's a useful moulding and I do use Wessex

These are the fixing I have by the way,

What I have Pete is an A136 from the Wessex catalogue but at 25mm, they call it a fillet. My fillets are 6mm and are used with mountboard.

Re: help with framing canvas

The overlap is about 25mm which is proportionate for the small canvas. The only fixings i have are - missing!, but they were one piece spring things screwed one end which bear down on the canvas frame to retain it.
I'll have to try and get something today.

Thanks for your help

Re: Fixing artwork into floater frames

Thanks - the obvious solution, but it avoided my brain. I cannot claim to do many and have used velcro up to press, but it does have its issues if there's a large bulge at the back of the canvas corners.
Thanks for the responses.

Fixing artwork into floater frames

Does anyone use an alternative to hook and loop adhesive Velcro to fix the artwork to the frame?

Well I never thought the 500 was up to it - did you use the board cutting attachment and really, did you find it strong enough to cut without straining the machine?

Re: Show dates in 2018 - USA and Bologna

Thanks very much Keith, that was very helpful.
I'd love to go, timing is difficult (well with my dear wife anyway) as I'm due to fly out to Pakistan the week after, it might just be pushing it.

Re: Appalling price of strutbacks up by at least 50%

What is the alternative to a strut back if someone wants to place it on a flat surface rather than a wall. I've used Kiau's for smaller than 1 2x 10, but wouldn't know anything else for 12 x 10 than a strutback.

Irrespective of your use of these techniques, what a fascinating thread of YouTube video's open up.

Re: Framing Photographs

It could be just a case of what you don't know you don't know.
Right wrong or indifferent, and set to one side disasters, I put large photos onto white display board and into the hot press just for that flat look and the knowledge that it won't shift.

No doubt your right, but to those like me without that knowledge it looks like a way of using up bits. But thanks as I'll add that to the data base for when someone turns the sample over.

Re: Popularity of Polcore

Thanks for the views so far, my own view centres on the use of either material as the occasion warrants - if it looks good I'm ok in using it. I'm trying to develop bespoke through design ideas, materials AND service, I'm less than impressed with some wood moulding that look good on face but under i...
