Re: Accounting software

Thanks for your input.

i have been using spreadsheets but I'm not great at updating it as I go and then have a bigger task / headache at the end of the year.

I like the idea of updating on the app as you go!

Thanks again

Accounting software

I’m looking to setup with an online accounting software and QuickBooks seems to be fine for my needs, I don’t have a massive turnover and not VAT reg. Just want something to track receipts to help with tax return that can be scaled up as I grows. I am keen to get a view on what other people use and ...

Re: When to 'sub - frame'

Thanks both. You have clarified what I a have been doing, possibly I might be a bit overall cautious. Prospero I've seen your posts about that sub frame before, its quite a thing and more so know that it was for a 10mm frame. The final piece must have been impressive! Just interested to know ...

When to 'sub - frame'

-ooop must have hit TAB on the keyboard and posted a bit early. Hi all, Out of curiosity, who here has set rule for using a sub - frame when creating a larger framer. What is the combination that requires the use of one? I have always been a bit uncertain and more than likely over engineered frames....

30” x 40” c-type print

Morning all, Quick check if I may... I have a client who wants a large c-type print framed. What are the common methods for hinging work like this? I had used p-90 on much smaller less expensive prints but mindful that with the adds size / weight of this item add the glossy paper type that there mig...

Re: Double sided frame

Thanks Justin, that was my thought. Similarly my client, a good friend, is pretty relaxed how I go about it, I want to do the best job possible and not cock it up doing something that could ultimately damage the program long term. I will have a look through Tudor Rose's posts. If anyone else has any...

Re: Art drawing - See through writings

I had similar a few years ago. The artwork was on 90g Japanese paper. As Timh mentioned, shadow floated on a darker mount then mounted the pedestal mounted work on a white mount as per the clients wish.

I think thats the best you can do...

Double sided frame

Hi all, I need a bit of guidance please. I have a friend who wants me to frame an old (1924) football flyer. It measures, 318mm x 216mm. Its very delicate and is printed on both sides. It also has very little 'margin' and a small chunk missing on one edge so the client wants to see the entire item e...

Re: Splines, who uses them

Thanks for all the detailed replies. It’s really helpful to get the broad view. Interesting to know about the Rockler jig for a router table. It’s another good option to consider but alas with a small studio space the table saw would be better in that it will allow me to cut the spline inserts. Than...

Re: Splines, who uses them

Thanks for the video post. I am familiar with this one and a few others.

I think what I’m asking is if I can crest splines accurately on a portable / smaller table saw like the one I mention. Or, like in the video a bigger machine is needed.

Thanks
