Re: Part length chamfers on moulding - how to do it?

If you are using a bearing guided cutter to create the chamfer then you can use a wedge temporarily attached to the workpiece with double sided tape to deflect the router at the end of the cut.

Re: Security Camera System

If anyone wants a really cheap and cheerful solution I’ve repurposed an old iPhone (an iPhone 4) and run an app called “presence” This detects movement and if it does then it starts recording and sends me an email alert. I’ve set up some rules so that it only detects between 7pm and 7am except on su...

Re: Trading..

I’m with Jonathan on this. I consider picture framing (and frames) to be non essential. I’ve closed the shop, furloughed the workers and closed my online business too. I could have carried on with the online side on my own, but like I say, I consider it non essential. I’ll reopen as soon as governme...

Re: Best CNC mount cutter?

I like the wizard mount cutters as they are able to cut jumbo boards. This was important to me.

Re: Gunnar rapido snagging the board

This happens on a wizard CMC when the head is not aligned correctly (I.e. on first use after power on, one is asked to align the head. If this is not done correctly then you get the problem above, the blade is sideways to the cut instead of inline). I’m not familiar with the gunner procedure though ...

Re: Another fascinating packaging thread

I use 2 sizes C25 @ around £80 for 700 and C45 @ around £60 for 400.

When we do large commercial jobs we bubble wrap each frame then use the large corners to fix two frames together face to face using handy wrap. This package proved very resilient and makes handling really easy.

Re: Moulding Storage

Here’s mine.

3” x 2” screwed to the wall with holes drilled in to take 1” dowelling.

The under storage has a lip on it to try to stop the moulding walking.
