Looks like Lions 9885 heavy duty bonding tape is for aluminium panels to sub frames. 5124 looks good too.

Re: Floating an aluminium print

I've been using "Bond It - Saves Nails SF", it's a water based grab adhesive, construction grade "permanent adhesive".
I'll let you know in 2 years if it's still working??

Re: Double sided frame

My 10p worth.. I would encapsulate between two sheets of acrylic, taping the edges together with Scotch tape. A combination of the static and pressure should hold the work in place. We have done lots of fine papercuts between glass like this, not recommended but my wife is the customer so what she s...

Re: Need to make a lot of the same size frame ...

I'd be getting some quotes from a few contract framers, who are setup for this kind of volume.
No mention of mounts. Probably a good time to mention that unless these are low value pieces theyshould not be put straight against the glass...

Re: Need to make a lot of the same size frame ...

Oh and if you don't have any scales at all on the right hand side, make sure that your front fences are squared i.e. giving you a 45 degree cut!

Re: Need to make a lot of the same size frame ...

Doesn't sound like a problem, as Alan said, cut a small piece as a "stop". Pencil mark 10" on your moulding, cut, check, lock your blades down, put your cut piece on the right hand side flush tight to the blade, clamp your stop in place on the right hand arm. Make sure your blades are...

Re: WANTED ... tips for where to buy Acrylic Fronts and MDF backs

Not sure if Wessex deliver as far as Newcastle, they have a branch in Oldham. That's who I use for cut to size acrylics.
I haven't heard of any suppliers selling cut to size mdf. Why not look at Corricor or Artbak, These are easy to cut to size yourself.

Re: Print protection

If the work is replaceable, with a Hotpress I would use an Artshield UV matt laminate. It has 99% uv protection too.
I'm sure there's an equivalent for a Drytac roller mounter.

Jerome,
According to their terms of service it is recycled, as they threaten to withdraw the service if the containers are contaminated with other waste.

Re: Reuse Recycle Problems especially Float Glass

Glass wise, we pay Wessex, our glass supplier an annual fee and a charge per container to collect and recycle our glass offcuts. They provide us with a certificate for this. Even though we are a work from home business, we also pay the council for a weekly trade waste collection. Our mountboard offc...

Mike, are you familiar with the Hedgehog technique? (If not, Lions have a "how to" sheet in their info section titled "Mounting Art on Heavy Paper" or similar. That's my go-to method for floating work, with a conservation grade gummed tape, no self adhesives. If you're mounting t...

Have you tried adjusting the two nuts to the right, which hold the handle tight? I found that I could loosen these two, move the handle a few mms to the left and retighten the nuts. It made the difference.
