Re: Water, water!
We did a frame for a bathroom a while ago. We glazed it with laminated glass, it was quite large. We sealed the glass into the frame using a clear silicon sealant. For the backing we used a sheet of acrylic, again sealed with silicon sealant. Not entirely sure of the rights and wrongs, but the custo...

Re: framing a very large photo
I too am concerned about the term very expensive. If the print is for instance a vintage black and white print by a famous photographer sticking it down will drastically reduce the value and the customer MUST be made aware of this. If they insist that you continue I would suggest getting written ins...

The fall to 15% was a temporary thing it will go back to 17.5% in December (not sure if that is at the start or the end).

Re: Frame<-->Mount tolerances & precision
Generally frame sizes quoted are + a bit we allow just under 1/8 inch unless the rebate is very small. This is so also true of most frames sold in the larger stores, and by frame suppliers so that if you buy a frame from Ikea or Nielsen of 500 x 600 mm a mount this size should fit into it.

Stining when joined is fairly straightforward, but what about sealing? waxing is ok, but polishing or varnishing are problematic,...

Re: Account keeping question for the Guru's of framing
I’m certainly not an expert, but I rather enjoy the bookkeeping aspect of this business. Many people think I’m a little weird for that. Add me to that list of people :? I agree with the keep it simple approach and do not use a computerised system I heard that all VAT submissions will have to be don...

Do you just want it for general cleaning? If so I have found "Henry" quite reliable, easy bag change and small and light.
