When it comes to UPS's I prefer the APC brand. Something like this (APC Smart-UPS 750 INET) will give you 16.4 minutes at 250 Watts (Half Load) and 4.8 minutes at 500 Watts (Full Load). We have this brand protecting 60% of our server room and it is one of the best. Out on my desk in the office I hav...

While its true that the external drive will be assigned the next available drive letter in most installations it will remain consistant. The only variable is the number of external devices you have. For example, if you have a multi card reader and a external drive then it can be a lottery on which i...

When I get to work tomorrow I'll have a look through my directory and see if there are any recovery specialists. Is the hard drive totally buggered? Does it spin up when powered? Can you get a directory of it or mount it? As for backups we are giving the mobile users USB hard drives. At the moment w...

Ok, internal SATA.
I agree Western Digital are very reliable drives. I get my gear from either Dabs or Novatech.
Dabs are currently doing SATA 500GB Western drives for £65 and a hard drive manufactured for raid at £77.

How was the raid array configured? Was it a raid 1 or 0?

I think it may take a little longer to get into Ashes to Ashes. I'm currently working my way through LOM season 2 and found Ashes to be a little forced in places. Of course there were some good bits, especially when she was all over the car bonnet, and the multiple references to 80's cop shows. I du...

Cheap ebay items
There a couple of Morso's going quite cheaply on ebay atm.
I'm currently bidding on this one
There is also a KEENCUT SYSTEM 4000which has a starting bid at £99 that I'm watching. Is this Keencut system any good? What should I look out for on one? What is the main point of failure?
Cheers
