Re: Daler mountboard corner samples

Somewhere on my travels I met a framer who made his own corners in each colour he stocked. He cut them 8 cms wide by about 80 cms long Then he could position the 2 over the customers artwork to make a "temporary" full sized mount He told me Joe Public found it much easier, and quicker, to ...

Re: fully recycled coloured mountcard??

Dont customers ask for some bizarre things! :head: I wish the paper industry would get a very simple message across to Joe Public Trees are like apples, potatoes etc. They grow in the ground, they are used , and then more are planted OK I agree trees take a lot longer to grow, but they are still a c...

Re: New framers and secondhand equipment.

plus if you get some training before buying equipment, you might find out that you are no good at framing :sweating: or you are not cut out for it  :itwasntme: , so you have not wasted your money on equipment you are not going to use, you can just walk away :wounded: A post from Steve that I t...

Re: New framers and secondhand equipment.

May I chip in here ? Preferably before you start buying any equipment get some training  Then the chances of buying the wrong equipment, stuff off EBay with parts missing ( there was such a post yesterday) will be greatly reduced Also any trainer will save your hours of wasted experimentation (...

Re: Where to order card - large size!

Thank you to Steve and NYAF (aka Mark Lacey) I assume that when she joined she will have had to provide an email address Can we ask John to fire off a short email asking her to see how much help was offered, but which she never ever saw. :head: And saying the least she can do is to tell us how and w...

Sophie came on here May 30th and apart from a second visit May 30 hasn't been back. So most of the helpful replies made after May 30th haven't been seen by her. This behaviour really Pi**es me off. :head: I will give her some slack in case shes had an accident, but SOPHIE - if you are reading this p...

Re: Selling up

Norrie, You are not dreaming! I've recently discussed exactly the same concept with a 3 friends, all well past retirement age, but who still have all their equipment + boards + mouldings etc and still do the odd frame job. They all have the same idea as you. So much better to sell the entire l...

I never knew Danlist made underpinners until last week, when I saw a photo of one that had just arrived in Vietnam. Its t...

Just be grateful - very grateful for the answers on here

I look at the French equivalent of this forum very infrequently. Nothing has changed since I last reported. Its a forum where there are plenty of questions but rarely any answers. 4 examples 1) A framer wanting help with his Fletcher.>>>>> 1075 views 2) A question about 2 sided adhesive. >>>> 1,223 ...

Re: Where to order card - large size!

Alan, Maybe you meant to write A! A0 is 841 x 1189mm ( 33 x 46 inches). I cant imagine the post office handling such a huge size, but maybe their parcel service does. What condition might it arrive in? But Sophie wrote she wanted 840 x 640 which is a tad over A1 (594 x 841mm) For speed and convenien...
