Re: Pet hates
Following on from the mobile phone one; I was in hospital early this year and the chap opposite me was lying in bed when his wife called. He immediately put it onto speakerphone while his wife asked him about his forthcoming operation. It was made all the more embarrassing (for him) when he explaine...

Re: Pet hates
People who use 'There' when they mean 'Their'. or 'They're'. And 'Quiet' when they mean 'Quite. To this I have to add people who use the word "of" when they mean "have". Its got so bad on places like Facebook that I cant read them anymore. Other pet hates include, but not limite...

Re: Looking to purchase
We have just retired from framing for the second time around and although we were in business back in the 80's and 90's which was a whole different market, when we decided to start a new venture back in 2006, we decided this time we would do it right and buy the best equipment. That for us was a foo...

Re: Moulding Suppliers Questions
We had accounts with all of the main suppliers and some duplicate with other suppliers. That means if you cannot get a specific moulding from one supplier then you may be able to get it from another. As always, although we purchased from all of the main suppliers (and some smaller ones) we did tend ...

I had one of those on my programmable Alfamacchine (Minigraff MP). They are superb with very wide mouldings
Re: De roller
I sold one last year as were stopping wide format printing and like most I was really sceptical as to its claimed abilities. It had been suggested to me that purchasing a length of 32mm plastic waste pipe and then sticking some cellophane onto it would work just as well. It didn't, but it worked a b...

Re: framing turin shroud
We would go for the conservation method and use silicon. Its lovely and stretchy and the shroud would never come off (but u=you could cut round the fixing points with a good quality scalpel.

Re: Mouldings defects/damage
I think it is a perennial problem which seems to be getting worse. Regarding the delivery, clearly it would be a good idea if the suppliers all got together and formed their own delivery company. If you had Simons, Arqadia,Lion and Nielsen all feeding into one courier who have been trained to handle...

Re: Coins
My first port of call would be someone with a CMC who can cut a mount with circular holes to hold the coins in place. We did a number of these. If that was not a possibility then silcone is the answer. A small blob of clear silicone on the back of each coin will hold it forever. However should you w...

Re: printers capable of printing onto mount board
The Epson SC600 will print onto board between 0.7mm and 1.3mm (according to the manual) I havent tied it yet but it certainly looks like the job.

Re: what would you do?
I dont think I would do any of those. I would pin it to 10mm foam board in the same way silks are done. That way you can put "just enough" tension on the fabric. We have had similar stuff and we have tried all sorts from stapling onto laths and jacking it out to tension, but invariably we ...

Re: 5 drawer squat plan chest for sale
The 5 drawer squat plan chest is still for sale. It was the one we used to keep customers work in under the work bench. Its a wooden chest but has roller drawer glides which make opening and closing very easy. External dimensions are 1320mm x 940mm x 430mm high. Internal dimensions are 1225 x 875mm....

Re: FREE moulding
Thanks kartoffelngeist. Aberdeen is a very long way. The only time I went to Aberdeen it was by plane :? Also thanks for the other recommendation, but I am pretty sure that I have a taker for the moulding this weekend, but should that fall through then I will contact Ianb if it should fall through. ...
