Re: best wedges for joining polycore moulding

I've got a Cassese underpinner with clamps and find that they join fine. I use Gorilla glue, I tried others but also had problems with the joint opening a bit, but the Gorilla glue seems to work well. I only use Polcore and avoid any narrow ones as I'm concerned about joining them, but find that the...

I turn the psi down to about 40 and can then use 5mm wedges as they don't come through.

Re: Laminator, dry mounting question

Thanks for all of your feedback so far  . I'm in the process of buying a CMC and am concerned about space in the workshop so I'll maybe leave it a while longer as I've never been asked for it, I just wondered if it was something that might generate some extra income.

Has anyone used a pneumatic morso? I've never seen one so don't know if they are better for me and my gammy knees. :ninja:

Laminator, dry mounting question

Hi all. I've never really understood the purpose of laminating, vacuum presses, dry mounting, etc so have always ignored the equipment. What's the advantage of them and do I need one?

Valiani Mat Pro

Just after a bit of advice. I'm looking for a new mountcutter and, although I'd love to upgrade to a CMC, I'm only a little one man band in a small town and can't argue the case for the cost of one. However, I've been looking at the Valiani Mat Pro range from Simons and wonder if anyone has any expe...

Who holds the power?

Hi Everyone. As if running your own business doesn't keep you busy enough, I've gone and got myself accepted onto a PhD programme of study where I'm investigating the factors affecting the framing trade. :sweating: Here's where I need your help. Of all of the stakeholders in the framing trade (and n...

Re: Is there any point in creating a website, if I don't want to spend much time on SEO

I created my website using Go Daddy as it was a very simple and quick method to get one designed and up and running. I don't use it for selling work, but its invaluable in directing people to me as I'm slightly off the beaten track. I also made use of Google maps and Facebook. So yes, do it.

Thanks Steve, that's exactly how I'd priced the job up with the spacer and deep rebate. And yes, they did say they'd paid very little for it but are happy to shell out £300 for it!!
