Thanks Prospero. I`ve requested a Simons catalogue.
For the moulding, a square profile would be fine.

60mm deep moulding & 50mm linen-look slip
Hi
I`m looking for deep mouldings 60mm deep and 50mm wide in gold or silver. I also need 50mm wide white/cream linen-look slips. Any suppliers come to mind?
Thanks,
Sean

Re: How should heavy, unwieldly items be fixed/hung?
Thanks for the advice and information.
I`ve not been at this framing malarkey too long. I`ve done more with children in an after school art club than with paying customers. Anyway I`m learning as I go. Thanks again

How should heavy, unwieldly items be fixed/hung?
Hi. I`ve just framed a poster which with a 70mm moulding and 100mm mount is now 1250mm x 930mm and very heavy. Another customer wants me to frame a 1270mm x 740mm Klimt poster with awide mount and 70mm moulding. Again it will be very heavy. How should these heavy, unwieldly items be fixed/hung from ...

Thanks for all the advice, tips and suggestions. I`m very grateful. There`s plenty to mull over. Since I`m only part time, it`ll take a while to carry through some of the ideas especially having a separate place to paint/wax frames. I can`t see my wife letting go of another room. Maybe I can create ...

Merlin, you`re right. I should not have allowed myself to be fobbed off. I guess I need a tougher mindset. I`m teaching all week except Friday morning. I`ll talk to Lion then. Prospero, thanks for the pros and cons. An analytical mind at work. I`d give you a good report on parents` evening. Robofram...

Thanks John. I asked Lion that but got a "I don`t know. I`m new here" answer. I`ll try again.
Thanks Spit. I`ll try your idea too.

Another newbie.
Hi. I`ve only recently started framing part time so I`m as ignorant as they come. I am a supply teacher for most of the week. I was a full time primary school teacher but found I needed to broaden my interests to stay sane. Anyway I`ve set up a workshop in the front room and have reached the stage o...
