Re: Any Framing Engineers planning a trip to Cornwall?
It would appear that I have not fixed the problem with my Morso so Neil Stout is trying to get down here to Polzeath this Wednesday or next week. Is there anyone here or on the route to Cornwall in need of his services?

Re: Morso EH help please!
My problem is that I am already in the cellar! I have a spare manual underpinned in a corner in the kitchen and a Logan mount cutter behind the Excalibur 5000 but just had now space to keep the manual Morso, which is a shame as it would appear that there are still problems with one of the sensors. A...

Re: Taking holidays
I always take Christmas Day off, other than that am here for at least a part of each day, 7 days a week. But then we live in sight of the beach so can grab a holiday for an hour or 2 when ever we can make the time, and sit on the balcony of the local restaurant and have a beer watching the sun go do...

Re: Morso EH help please!
Any ideas at all? I have tried 2 engineers, both are on holiday! A sensor problem has been suggested, but not sure where I will find that but an about to give it a go. Wish I had the space to keep the old manual machine as a back up!

Morso EH help please!
Our Morso EH has been working fine this morning and now suddenly will not make the 2 last cuts! I have checked and can not see any bits of moulding that are stopping it. Has anyone experienced this or even better know how to fix it! It would only happen during a holiday week on one of our busiest da...

Re: Packaging customers work
I use this https://www.davpack.co.uk/protective-packaging/bubblewrap/dubble-bubblewrap-rolls.htm?hpc=CDBS-12 It seems expensive but they are 200m rolls so buying 5 rolls of the 1200mm wide is equivalent to £21 for a 100m long rolls. They have the advantage of being about the same size as normal bubb...

Re: Packaging customers work
We use bubble wrap, twice round and fold over the edges, then twice round the other way and fold over the edges and then cover in cardboard either from the Ultravue glass or the moulding delivery. As we only frame with anti reflective glass it is a great way of getting rid of the cardboard! If it th...

Re: WANTED - Mountcutter, Underpinner and Heat Press
I varnished for 3 years before deciding to buy the Hotpress. I find laminating easier, quicker and more consistent, though I do admit to marginally preferring the finish of the glamour, but not enough to go back. I have never workout the costings as they are not that important to me. I certainly hav...

Re: FIXING GOLFBALL ONTO A TEE
You could try framing the ball and tee I used when I tried to play golf, I was often convinced they must have been stuck together when the ball was still there after my shot!

Re: WANTED - Mountcutter, Underpinner and Heat Press
I would also urge the pneumatic underpinner. I would only deem the Hotpress to be essential if you want to laminate photo canvases which I find a much easier process than hand varnishing.

My guess would be when they refuse to sharpen them its time for a new set, but I have not had that happen as yet!pramsay13 wrote:Is there a way of telling by looking at the blades if you need a new set, or a set depth they should be?

Re: Quick bonding question?
Which ever it is it's finished :D 2016-04-22-13.02.jpg Don't think I will rush to do another one! Customers layout choice, I preferred a more ordered look, but I am glad they went with my suggestion to include the newspaper cutting, even though there was almost nothing to play with on the left hand ...

Quick bonding question?
Right - have at last managed to cut my coin mount, only taken 6 hours! Last night (without realising that I had one of the 42 holes with the wrong diameter so the coin fell out - time to adjourn for a beer at that point!) I tried bonding the top bevel mount to the straight cut undermount with double...
