Re: Starch Paste on Digital Printing Paper
No matter what type of print or tape used the material should NEVER be placed behind the image area but should always be attached within the border.
This is why any print should always be printed with as much border as possible minimum requirements are 30 / 40mm

Re: Mounting a Cibachrome Print
with the old cibachrome print any imbalance or change in the prints (dyes) pH level can overtime result in the alteration of it's chemical structure. Like many colour photographic prints the three dyes (cyan magenta and yellow) can react to changes in their environment at different rates. However if...

Re: Mounting a Cibachrome Print
It's always inportant to remember that photographs have their own pH value.
Ciba's (now known as Ilfochromes) have a natural rating of 6.5 to 6.8( as long as they have been processed correctly) So it is best to find a archival board in the same range of pH value

Re: Large print to be bonded onto acrylic
The process you describe is called Diasec, and Kay Mounting do it better than anyone else in London, as far as i am aware. There may be someone nearer to you who does it, but if not you'll be in safe hands at Kay Mounting. They are unsurpassed in my experience for Diasec and for drymounts onto alum...

Re: Drymounting onto rag board
Hi mate thanks for your time, not using heat tissue just the pressure type. the other problem with using mount boards as the substrate is that they're S**T! the surface isnt hard enough to give a good surface for the print, foamex has a great surface, similarly Ali or dibond but somewhere someone ha...

Re: Dismantling old frames
Try re gluing and using a band clamp as they've probably warped by now there's not much use breaking them apart and getting them back together.

Re: Whats the worst thing your staff ever did???
i had just taken over a framing company in Mayfair. Had a freelance friend in to help me at the beginning. one day we were asked by an gallery customer if we could swop over a framed Jim Dine print for another. As i had to go out I asked him if he would do it and get it back to the gallery. After I ...
