Re: Mount cutter advice please

I had a Longridge when hobby framing but unless it has changed quite a bit I wouldn't recommend it professionally. The model I had had a plastic slider that I feel would wear quite quickly, it also didn't have graduated stops you had to measure and draw on the back of the mount, it didn't have a hol...

Re: Morso upgrade

So is a Morso EH significantly better than a Morso F? Given that I don't have the space fro a saw?

Re: Arqadia's Woeful stock control

I got to a stage where I'd deliberately order a chop kit a few mm longer than I needed so that I could trim it on the Morso to ensure a reasonable join. I then thought I might as well order length as the waste was less expensive than the chop mark up and I was doing virtually the same amount of work...

Underpinner wedges leaning backwards

Using a 15mm wedge on a narrow but tall moulding it came though the side of the moulding on underpinning, 10mm wedge no problem. I've noticed in the past on breaking open a join that particularly staked wedges tend to lean backwards a little. Is this something to do with the set up of the underpinne...

Morso upgrade

Toying with the idea of upgrading the Morso, would you go for a Morso EH or a saw?

Re: Arqadia's Woeful stock control

We stopped ordering Arqadia chop due to frequent poor mitres a year or so ago, it sounds as if things haven't improved. Our current gripe is that we can order say 2m and 6m are delivered and the next time we ask for say 3m and they send 2.5; never get this problem with Nielsen or Centrado.

Excalibur glass wheel falling out

Newish glass cutting wheel and its carrier is, from time to time, falling out of the cutting assembly when scoring standard glass. Any thoughts?

Re: Morso issue with moving blades

There's a swivel arrangement below the platform part of which the handle attaches to, there are two nuts the lower most nut (locking nut) may be too tight?

Re: Sharpening Morso blades...again!!

The 'slight push' could be an issue. The hardened edge can come away slightly, Morso did have a problem with one batch, which will cause the problems you describe.

When the blades get very low I find that when cutting some mouldings the shavings jam in the apex at the front where the blades connect.

If you are a sole trader you can operate on a 'cash accounting' basis whereby you only declare income and expenses when money actually comes in and out of the business.

I don't use the Futura any more but I vaguely remember having to move the yellow measurement scale at one stage, it must have slipped a couple of mill, when I had a micro adjuster at its extreme setting?

Excalibur nylon linear bearing play

Just noticed quite a bit of play (about 1mm) in the handle on my Keencut Excalibur and I can see that this is play in the bearings. Is this normal and something that I just hadn't registered before or do they need replacing?
