As in Japanese hand made papers, the first widely available was rice paper by Windsor and newton back in the 70s which I used to use of cause I was using that as a general term as there are many more plant fibre papers available like Kozo which I use on my courses.

I teach these mounting methods and many more with tapes and rice papers and paste.

Nothing like a bit of hands on training, a lot of mistakes are made by using to much water.

Love these clamps, I still own a couple of sets, got them back when I worked at magnolia. I love them when repairing old ornate frames that you can’t take apart but have a big gap, they do the clamp job and close the mitre so you can get a screw or nail in and refinish.

Titebond for me, it’s really strong and will rip the wood fibres from the other side of a mitre joint when breaking apart.

I use it and use it when training.
