Re: Cassis wedges compatible with Gielle underpinned?

... were supplied unfinished. Do you normally finish the oak with oil? Thanks for recommending a couple of local suppliers Pete - I have been to Mainline but not A&T. I will get there before too long though! All the best and thanks again. Matt

Re: Cassis wedges compatible with Gielle underpinned?

Hello Matt and welcome to the FF :D

I must say I envy where you are based having not one but two excellent framing suppliers in your area, Mainline and A&T if you have not done so yet, both are well worth a visit

Wishing you every success.

Peter.

Re: How to get picture frame corners flush?

... it's always a little out. But again, I think my underpinner is a little out so they don't lie flat on it, which is a shame. I'm using this from Mainline https://mainlinemouldings.com/index.php?SearchEntry=010-0201 Is this more common in cheaper and thinner moldings?

Cassesse Underpinner cartridges

Hi, I see that Mainline sell V nails (or Uni wedges as they refer to them) without any form of case or cartridge link: https://www.mainlinemouldings.com/index.php?DepartmentID=8&CategoryID=91&ProductID=WDG-0002 Can these ...

Re: Morso blade sharpening

The Mainline setup for collecting/delivering blades is very convenient and well worth the money IMHO.
They are heavy things so carriage is bound to be a tad pricey.

If you have a regular delivery from Wessex then it's even more convenient. :D

Re: Morso blade sharpening

Wow - Mainline seems to be the overwhelming choice. Trouble is, their headline price of 'from' £13.50 comes out close to £37 with return shipping and VAT, which on a single set of blades gets quite expensive. Maybe that's what ...

Re: Morso blade sharpening

Mainline for us too - so easy to book them in online, then they are collected and delivered back to you. Postage is a cost factor which you have to take into account and so we tend to send 3 sets at a time which makes it more ...

Re: Morso blade sharpening

Mainline for me too, I believe their blade sharpening machine is actually manufactured by Morso.

Problem with Wessex and Centrado is you are likely to have a good couple of weeks delay before your blades re-appear, Mainline usually turn round the same week.

Re: Morso fence alignment

... Usually a gnat's whisker is all that's needed. If you overcook the tweak then you will start to get a gap. You say that the blades were ground by Mainline, so they should be good. You could try removing them and check that they are seated correctly - no bits between the blade and block and also ...

Morso fence alignment

... near right I have had to pull the left fence (as you look at it) toward me by quite a bit (see pic). I have just had the blades sharpened by Mainline, although the problem was there before the sharpening, & I'm confident that I fitted them back well, with no dirt behind the blades. The ...

Re: Morso blades - where to buy?

I bought my latest brand new set recently from Mainline's web site, simply because they were the lowest price of all the suppliers with them in stock at the time, and delivered next day.

Re: A plea to moulding distributors

... but... Surely keeping your website up to date is a fairly basic part of running a business now? The only decent websites I've seen are Lion and Mainline. Everyone else's is full of discontinued lines and doesn't have new lines. I do feel like we give suppliers a lot of leeway because many framers ...

Deep Black Gloss moulding - polcore/artcore suppliers ?

Re: Mainline All Size Stretcher bars

A lot of canvases end up on rigid bars and are stretched on machines. I'm thinking the typical mass-produced digital prints. "Wall Furniture" as I call them. Often the canvas is a plastic-based concoction and they don't react with ambient conditions in the same way a 'proper' painting does...

Re: Mainline All Size Stretcher bars
