Re: Rosette tails
With the blessing of the customer I just put a little bit of double sided tape on each tail. They are thick enough that it doesn't show through and it makes them look as though they are swinging freely although of course they aren't. Time will tell if there is an issue with discolouring or gl...

Deep frame with matching spacer
Does anyone do a deep frame with a matching spacer. I've seen the Arken ones in the Lion catalogue, but I'm needing some that will be a bit deeper, possibly around 3 inches or more.

Re: Flumb NIGHTMARE!
I've started cleaning and wiping the glass with the frame standing up and wiping from top to bottom :o Then assembling while it's still standing up. I then have a good look and fire in a few points and check properly. If everything's okay I fire in the rest of the points and then go for a cup of tea.

Re: Non-conservation MBE cert.
Looks good Robo, I've actually got a certificate in to frame with the MBE to follow. They were to go in separate frames so I've sent a pic of yours as I think that's a great suggestion.
Can you talk me through the setup?
Is there a spacer between the mount and the certificate?

Re: Stretched canvas into normal frame and mount
Canvas was stretched before the customer decided they wanted a frame as it looked too plain. Then they chose the frame, which to be fair is pretty deep, but they wanted it glazed and mounted so it isn't big enough for all that. If I get a request like that I usually say, here's how I would do it, bu...

He's already picked the frame so I think we'll got for a box added to the back to extend the rebate.
Thanks everyone for your help.

Re: Stretched canvas into normal frame and mount
The stretched canvas sits further back than the frame, so i won't get a backing board over it in the normal way

Re: Stretched canvas into normal frame and mount
It's a printed canvas so no problem with a single mount.
I'll use foamboards to fix it in place. What's the best way to secure the canvas to the foamboard?

Stretched canvas into normal frame and mount
I have stretched a canvas for a customer and he is wanting it to be mounted and glazed and framed the way you would a normal picture. The difficulty is fixing the canvas to float in the middle of everything. Is it possible, e.g. cutting a square out of backing board and fixing it to this? I have sai...

Re: NON FRAMING - but uses mouldings ☺
I used some unfinished moulding to replace a uPVC door frame.
Cut them on the morso, then had to trim them at an angle because the opening wasn't square.

Using suppliers' images
Does anyone know if it's okay to use moulding and mountboard images from suppliers on my own website?
It will obviously be to give customers an idea of the type of frames available.
What about the 3D spins from Mainline (Ricky?)
Cheers

Without a CMC
This was my most complicated piece of mount cutting to date, although in the end it was much easier than I thought it would be.
Luckily the customer didn't want a double mount.

Re: Web Site Link Exchange
I finally managed to capture an elusive day off, enforced because I'm away for a few days this Christmas time.
Despite that I got a phone call today! at 1pm asking for 2 frames to be ready for Christmas.
I've now added everyone (I think) http://www.thepictureframerml.co.uk/contactus.html

I have already framed a particularly large (1m , 600mm?) artwork printed on thick paper. The customer has been in touch saying it is wrinkled in the middle. What are my options without a press. Could I stick it to arqadia sticky board using a hand roller? Someone mentioned a hedgehog method previous...
