Re: The end of Cassesse

I've seen this too but I can't see any news reports on the situation. Does anyone have a credible source with the full story?

Re: AI/ChatGpt

Yes, it's not perfect but it gives a fantastic starting point. The latest version is much better with looking at variables and reasoning. We do use it more and more. We also have been successful in creating little prints for the shop with the text to image technology. It's a great tool for the busin...

Re: Morso blade adjustment

Yes, those blades are not aligned properly, they're not going to give you a cut that will join nicely. I've said this before several times about blades that haven't been sharpened just right and that's the just buy a new set. The amount of time and moulding that you'll waste trying to get this sorte...

Re: Tape not holding a piece of artwork in place

Hi, I don't mean to take this post off on a tangent but I'd like some tips on using non self adhesive tapes. My concern is that the 'wet' will soak through and be visible on the front or it'll generate a 'tightness spot' on the front that will make it obvious there the hinges are. Maybe I'm using hi...

Re: AI/ChatGpt

Perhaps Chatgpt could sift through and make sense of what is available. You've got it, it's good at taking in all the available content and delivering it in a way that's mostly easier to digest, as it's computational based it can analyse many different scenarios, compare data. Think of it like it's...

Re: AI/ChatGpt

Sure, I use it for social media posts and sometimes I use it instead of a search engine when I want a specific answer and I don't want to trawl through loads of resources (I use the public free version btw - it's only been trained on data up to 2021) We're going to redecorate the shop soon & we'...

Re: AI/ChatGpt

Good question! A proper reply would need a bit more than a comment on an internet framing forum though. For me AI is a tool, I don't believe it'll replace my job, it's good at tasks that it's been trained on but not really at full jobs. But at the rate the technology is advancing it's hard to say if...

Re: Apperture sizing of Mount

Well, the easiest way (as far as I know) is to measure the size of the frame opening (rebate sizes), measure the size of the image. Subtract the image size from the framing opening size. Divide the answer by 2 & that will give you the border width(s). Obviously don't make the aperture the exact ...

Shipping frames

Hi We have a little Esty shop that we sell a few cheesy prints etc - anyway I was thinking about adding some very basic framing options to the sale. I'd say the majority would be A4, obviously we'd be using acrylic glazing but my main concern was shipping. Can anyone recommend ready made boxes that ...

Henry Rollin

Anyway, so I go and see Henry Rollins on Tuesday night doing one of his spoken word performances. Usually, as these events it can be hard to imagine what he'll say but I must admit I was a bit surprised where he done a segment about his framer Sam with the benefits of archival framing materials &...

Scotch ATG Tape

Hi Does anyone know a good supplier of the Scotch ATG (904) tape - my current supplier doesn't stock them anymore. I'd like to keep the brand as I find it much better than the generic type that most people sell. https://www.hub-packaging.com/tapes/tapes-hand-or-dispenser-applied-tapes/double-sided-t...

Re: Alternative solution for joining deep frames

I've seen these before but I was always concerned about the possibility of there being an indent left in the moulding. We mostly use factory finished stuff in here so unfortunately I don't think we could use them but I really like the idea. It looks to be a nice quick solution :)
