Re: Dry Mounting an inkjet print
So the print is coming off the adhesive? What type of paper is the print on? If RC prints, then the back of the print might also benefit from a quick wipe with IPA. Once the print is mounted, allowing it to sit face down overnight won't hurt - should give the adhesive long enough to get to grips wit...

Re: Dry Mounting an inkjet print
Start by wiping down with IPA - sometimes needs to be done twice, if the grease (or gunk from the protective film) is stubborn. Then apply facemount adhesive to the substrate. Let this cure for at least five minutes - can help if it is face down - the adhesive likes moderate temperature and pressure...

Re: White aluminium profile in chop service
Thanks - had forgotten about Nielsen - seems they do indeed have a glossy and matt white option, and Arquadia seem very friendly.

White aluminium profile in chop service
I'm in need of simple white aluminiunium profile, supplied as chop service, for an upcoming show. Have checked Lion and Wessex sites, and drawn a blank (and a quick search here hasn't brought anything up).
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Transfer inkjet printed image directly on to mount board
I looked up Giclee printing at that size and the whole project would cost me £420 just for the printing! I began my framing course in order to be able to have the framed pieces I need at a cost I could afford. The finished size is 30 x 30cm I would need 2 each of three different designs Thanks ever...

Re: Permanently mounting Fujiflex Hi-Gloss (cibachrome)
DiBond and aluminium are your two choices for substrate, Aluminium having the advantage that it doesn't hold a static (dust magnet) charge the way composite board does. As STCSTC said, you want the Hotpress/Dtytac facemount adhesive, and a jetmounter (or similar cold) roller mounter. I'm not convinc...

Re: Lasercut
Just had a quick chat with the artist. Front cutting is sandwiched between glass (or acrylic for the larger pieces), then subsequent layers are in between second and back sheet, some times "somehow" tacked to support them... This is then framed. The way they are cut, and the paper used doe...

Smells like mighty fine Vodka, unlike the Methyl Ethyl Ketone, which is the Devil's own Brew (and smells of butterscotch - never a good sign in a drink)

Re: Large Photo Print mount 107 x 142cms : (
We actually mount this sort of combo (gloss onto Al or ACM) and size on a regular basis, but only with images that We have printed (if anything goes wrong, we simply peel off the bad print, and apply a new one (with Hotpress facemount adhesive, you've got a good ten minutes before the glue really cu...

Re: Large Photo Print mount 107 x 142cms : (
Although I have a JM44 here, I'd point you towards http://www.abliss.co.uk/ in Farringdon - all they do is mount (OK, so now after fifty years, they frame as well). Either DiBond or Aluminium - anything else will show orange peel. Gloss on to an impermeable substrate is not something I'd try on an v...

Re: Lasercut
We print for an artist who hand cuts http://www.carolinejaneharris.com/ multiple layers on Archival Matt paper. I believe her framers sandwich/ let sit each layer between glass (some of these are 40x50"), resulting in monstrously large and heavy pieces. I can ask her for more details onthe fram...

Re: Foamboard cutting
We have no problems with Kapa mount on either the Steeltrak, or Javelin cutters, but we are having a devil of a time finding Really sharp, consistent blades for cutting RC laminated mounted prints. Seems that one edge of a stanley medium duty type blade will be perfect, but the reverse face can caus...

Re: Optimising photos for the web
In LR or PS, ensure that you save as sRGB - s stands for standard, simple, or stupid - the default assumed profile of the interwebs. I'd recommend putting in your contact metadata, and caption (helps google type searches and web optimisation, though costs you a couple of KB of file size), and quite ...

Re: Help with hole in compressor tube
If you've had two sections fail in quick succession, then if there is more in the same environment (chemical fumes or UV), then I'd think about replacing those, or if they were bought on the cheap. There is a chap at lionpic's Birmingham office who helped us out with all the bits when we got our Bam...

Re: Urgent solution Nedded
We do a lot of aluminium, using Facemount from Hotpress. Clean the surface with isopropyl alcohol (IPA). Pressure needs to be "Just right" - on our jet mounter, we set the pressure so that a series of "keys" - 5 x(10x5") pieces of 2mm aluminium have equal resistance to movin...
