Re: To wrap or not to wrap

I wrap it when I finish.
When they turn up I peel back an edge and let them inspect the finish.

Re: Morso Sliding Stop 2nd stop

Confusion ! or is it me....
The photo shows the normal Morso sliding stop, not the second stop which is hinged so it swings out of the way and this is what the responses are offering.
I think the op is looking for the normal stop which may be missing on the recently acquired 2nd hand Morso.

Re: Underpinning ash

I've just realised that one of my more popular ash mouldings has been discontinued by Lion and in checking others I see that the moulding in the OP and its deeper version (L935 and L1410) have also both been discontinued, L935 is still showing a small amount of stock but not too much!

Re: New Minigraf 4 User: Some advice please

I almost passed a comment about the photo of the wedges, they don't look like the usual PTM wedges that are supplied by Lion. I'm not suggesting that they are not genuine, maybe an older design ? If your problem persists I would be tempted to buy a new box of normal softwood wedges, Lion 832 is the ...

Re: New Minigraf 4 User: Some advice please

I've just read through this post for the first time, couple of comments which may be of use to you - Lion do replacement felt pads 317 for the L shape and 3024 round, they also supply the new style head which takes different hardness polymer pad, see 9462/3/4/5. Not cheap but I think worthwhile, I o...

Re: Underpinning ash

You will be better off with a Hoffmann X line router, perfect for hardwoods, see Lion 7819.
There was a second hand one being sold on the forum a while back, not sure if it is still available.

Re: Using a Morso without a left hand extension

A moulding support stand, Lion 3101 may help.
Also comes in very handy on bigger frames
How long are you in the temporary location?

Re: WANTED

I had seen somewhere that you can use a bigger block than the nail so I had a go with 5mm nails in a 7mm block and it worked without any problem.
This was on a minigraf 3

Re: Pneumatic Stapler

I would have thought that sourcing within the EU would be possible and would avoid the horrendous import duties and freight that US supply will attract. My wife inadvertently bought some electric toothbrush heads from Amazon shipped from US and when they arrived at the local parcelforce depot we dad...

Re: Mouldings defects/damage

I agree with Steve, we have to report the damage.
I've had issues with the same moulding, it does seem to be prone to the sight edge flaking and I've stopped using it. I find the plain black a much nicer moulding.

Re: Mouldings defects/damage

sorry that you are not feeling well and hope you are better soon. Whenever you come across damage or quality issues I think its imperative that you contact the supplier ASAP and also that you check all other lengths of the same supplied on that particular order. Do you do this? Can you say which mou...

Re: Mouldings defects/damage

I'm relatively low volume but on average have one moulding order per week on Lion and a bit less frequent on Arqadia. Both suppliers wrap quite differently- Lion first use bubble wrap and tape followed by corrugated cardboard and binding straps up to as many as 20 over a 3 metre long package, someti...

Hi Mark Sorry if I'm repeating myself but I cannot help thinking about how you are planning your communications... I have never been a big skype user but as I understand, and I may well be wrong, a user has to be signed in to be able to be contacted, can anyone shed any light on this please? If this...

Re: Calibrating keencut gold mount cutter for thick mountboa

Just an afterthought to my earlier post,
you will need to do a trial cut everytime you change the blade depth and check the amount of compensation to apply to the end of cut (and often the start of cut) settings. This does not take too long once you get the hang of it.

Re: Calibrating keencut gold mount cutter for thick mountboa

I found it easier to leave the calibration correct for standard mount thickness and then make a note of how much to compensate on the start and end of cut settings to get a clean cut. In your case you would change the mount width setting for the end of cut to increase the length of the cut by 3 mm, ...

Re: FrameTek Frame Space

Hi Paul, I never used the Frametek spacers although I did buy a sample pack from Lion quite a while back, it just feels a bit too flimsy so I never tried it and tend to make my own spacers. I do use the shallow (3 mm) econospace and have never had a problem with it coming out, it would normally be s...
