Glad I didn't have to do this!

We were recently in a hotel in Chile and Jane took a picture of me in front of this framed photo which probably measures around 18m x 2m. The long sides were made from 3 sections of joined moulding. We asked the staff how the hell they got it into the building and we decided the only way was to buil...

Morso table

I thought I would share this 'modification' that I have made for my Morso in case anyone finds it useful. 20190414-P4140980.jpg If anyone needs a little extra workbench space (like me) this is very easy to construct. It slides on and off the extension arm and is clamped with screw bolts underneath. ...

I would have thought that the weight of the moulding unsupported on the left side would cause it to lift at the cutting blade and lead to inaccurate cuts

Re: Using a Morso without a left hand extension

A moulding support stand, Lion 3101 may help. Cheaper versions are available from DIY stores and will work just as well. https://www.toolstation.com/shop/p43126 I removed the roller and made it wider with a length of spare moulding. Also very useful as a 'third hand' to support large frames when un...

For anyone's information this is currently on eBay with a reserve of only £200. The current top bid is only £10. This could be a fantastic bargain for someone!

I agree and this is my approach too. However the official guidance is ridiculously scary and lacks any common sense IMHO

Re: GPDR

I used to be registered with the ICO but I recently rang them for advice and they told me that because I only hold customer records on an invoicing system I can deregister. Now this GDPR thing has come along and I don't know where I stand. I am a one man band keeping paper records in a notebook of o...

Pricing advice please

I have been asked to quote for cutting a multiple aperture mountboard. There are 12 apertures so a fair bit of work will be involved as I dont have a CMC

How would you price this?

Re: Damaging glass Excalibur 5000

I have found a simple solution.

I cut 2 strips of mountboard 14mm and 20mm wide. They fit snugly into the channels and provide the necessary soft landing for glass.

Sure they will get damaged and worn but replacements are readily available. :D

Re: Handiwrap alternative?

There is a biodegradeable alternative which is available in pallet wrapping sized rolls. I contacted the manufacturer to enquire about smaller rolls but the answer is no. However, since the product exists and there is pressure to move away from normal plastic I'm sure it's a matter of time before th...

Re: Handiwrap alternative?

That is one council's list. All are not the same. Think about your own recycling, not micromanaging the entire communities. That is ridiculous. If my local supermarket reduced their reliance on plastic packaging for everything I would not have to recycle it. My solution is to go to a different supe...
