This is a demo piece that I have in the shop. It's my version of one of Pete Bingham's party pieces. The 'mount' (it goes over the glass) is three layers of 'Grey Board'. It does have it's uses! It occured to me that it could be used for leathery inlays on mouldings. I wish I could still get the 'pa...

That looks absolutely 'kin fantastic Spit. I've heard of distressed frames, but that one looks mortified. (or mortarfied) :tongueout: This is the result of last night's doodling: http://www.petrbnsfineart.com/images/stonetex001.jpg Well it's not an entirely unpleasant effect. :? Not quite wha...

I love the finishes that have been posted but my reality is that if I wanted a stone effect, I could buy it for far less than I could produce it..... So would I. But where could you buy a frame like like Spit's? With closed corners. :) Or if you could get one, supposing you wanted a slightly differ...

That's amazing Spit. :D  I'm Phenomenally Gobsmacked. It's more of a 'manky plaster' than a chiselled stone. I can see that workiing well on Mediterrean-types scenes. Anyhow, I've been having a dibble. I tried ripple paint and used the clingfilm technique. It came out a fantastic rough bark e...

There ya see. Easy init? :D

That's a real cool finish (literally).

I think these type of effects work best when they sugest a certain texture rather than a straight imitation.
