Re: Spice up your Morso !!!

Is the scale the one showing every 5mm or the newer type showing every 1mm? If it's the newer one and you'd be willing to sell separately, PM me with a price please :D

Re: How easy to switch between mount board depths

It's easy. Normal set up for standard thickness boards, take note of blade depth so you can easily return to this setting. Cutting thicker boards, set blade depth, enough to cut through and into cutting mat, cut a test mount using normal top and bottom stops, check to see adjustment needed, should o...

They have a branch in Uddingston mate, I've never had the need to get a finished edge but they are good guys and well worth a visit/call :)

Edit: Fairly sure they will have the stand offs too

Re: is 2mm AR Glass size 1120x1220mm ok?

I don't know the frame and I don't use that particular glass, but if they make it that big then why would there be a problem? We keep clear colour 1800x1340 sheets and I've no problem using them, also plain glass which is 1800x1220. If you can cut it, you can use it, just make sure the frame is subs...

Re: How to mount and frame small family locket in openable f

Reminds me of a pocket watch I framed many(very many) years ago, guy wanted to be able to wind it occasionally. I can't remember all the details but I do remember getting hinges from a model makers shop, very small, also a very small latch of some sort, fairly sure they we're meant for a dolls house...

Re: Morson Cutting Problem

Freshly sharpened blades will be ok on almost all bad woods/weetabix , but there are the very few that are so bad they have to go back, not fit for purpose. So yes, if all else fails, send it back :)

Re: Morson Cutting Problem

Cut it the other way around, rebate against the fence, if it still tears then it's just not Morso-friendly wood. Snotwood/Weetabix moulding. Agree with this ^^ Or you could use some thin strips of mdf behind the moulding, this would eliminate the ragging as the final cut is through the mdf........j...

I've used one and never got any oil out of it, get a video up of it in full flow :)

As already stated it must be coming from the hammer lubricant

It's been years since I used one but as far as I remember it's just the same as a CS88, just in a different dress. No oil reservoir

Re: Dust removal

I clean and then tape up almost every framing job, probably 99%, sometimes they can be taped for over a week before I get round to chopping the frame, longer if it's out if stock, clean it once, tape it and forget about it, job done

Re: stupid question possibly

So, you plan to space the glass off the mount, using thin strips of mount board? But only at the sides? Why? Is the rebate wider at the sides? Surely you will get the same effect top and bottom too? I'd use econospace from lion. As for the tape being seen? Not sure why the top and bottom differ from...
