Many thanks for your kind comments - at least I know I'm sort of doing it right. I just need a lot more of those customers now!

Recent basic efforts
Hi All, I joined this forum some time ago to ask a question about starting up a framing business, I received some excellent advice directly from here and from members personally and for that I thank you all. I have now plucked up enough courage to show you some of my recent efforts :sweating: and al...

Re: painted finish to wooden moulding
Do you generally apply these finishes to uncut moulding or to a joined frame?

Robo,
You owe me a new keyboard - reading your post and drinking coffee at the same time is not good for computing equipment.

Re: Stainless steel frame?
I have gone back and suggested an aluminium frame - it will be put to the architect. I would also be concerned over the weight of such a sized mirror.
Thanks for your replies.

Stainless steel frame?
Received an enquiry this morning from a supplier of mirrors asking if I could supply and fit a 3mm wide stainless steel frame to a 6mm thick mirror with 12mm thick moisture resistant backing sized 1500 x 1350mm. Oh yes, and it's for 150 of them. My early enquiries have shown the architect has possib...

I think it's better to be safe than sorry on this occasion.

Re: Copyright concerns
Thanks for the prompt response. We have bought (from a reputable source) memory card with Disney images to use with an embroidery machine, I could try to find the paperwork that came with it to see if there is a "not for profit or commercial use" type statement associated with its use. Steve

Copyright concerns
Whilst I have been framing intermittantly for nearly 10 years I have only recently taken the decision to set-up a framing business with the aim of that business being my main income. As a result I spend time dreaming of things to frame that may lead to an impromtu sale, we have available to us the a...

Re: Marketing for new start-up
Ryebart, I'm in a similar position to you - just starting up and wondering how to entice those customers. These are some of the things I have done so far: 500 A5 leaflets photocopied for £8 and pushed them through letterboxes, result = one order for about 8 frames and a promise to tell other people....

Another new one
Hello folks, I have been reading this forum at every opportunity for the last few days in an attempt to glean as much information as possible. I have taken the decision to attempt to concentrate full time on picture framing after spending over 6 years (on and off) doing it at weekends and evenings. ...
