Welcome Jon. One feature which has saved me a couple of times is the search. When you need that instant answer someone else has probably already asked the question!

On a separate note though, I sometimes prefer fumbling around in the dark.

Kev, I used to be in a community which had our own BF1942, BF2 servers. One of my favourite mods for it was Forgotton Hope. Forgotton Hope 2 has just ben released for BF2 and it is fantastic. I always specialised in snipers or special forces. Anything which involved sneaking around and head shots. 8...

I was watching this as well but driving down to Twickenham would be a pain.

There are some new Charnwood underpinners at £380 I think I'm going to go for one of these. At least I'll get a 2 year warranty and it'll be delivered.

Your friend is probably playing WOW (World of Warcraft). I play another online game which is a little more cutthroat and ruthless called Eve Online. Hours and days can be lost to it and it is an open ended game. You can be whatever you want. You can be a manufacturer, trader, scientist, pirate etc e...

I've taken what you have all said on board and spoken to the boss.

I've managed to up the budget to £350 and there is a cassese 88 on ebay for £350 which I'm aiming to be the only bidder on. :D

I have used this anti-static brush from Lion with good results. You could also ground it to a metal frame to make it more effective.

I think the fortunate ex-IT'ers have got it spot on. I'm a jack of all trades at my company. If its telecoms, networks, software, support it all ends up at my door. As the others have said that gets very tiring after a while. One of the biggest things which affect IT people who support users is that...

As Steve says I am hoping to kick this off part time for now and as always priorities change. I haven't been doing this for long (<1 year) but I don't consider myself a hobbist, more of an apprentice. This is something I wish to learn to get away from my current career and with anything I am determi...

Thanks for the advice guys. I'll have a quick look around also for others before I bid. I do recognise you get what you pay for and I would like a quality machine. One of the reasons the budget got reduced is because I had some bad news and found out I wasn't being made redundant from my current job...

Underpinner

I'm in the market for a second hand underpinner. I know the brand to head for is the Cassese but there is one manufactured by Framers Corner on Ebay at the moment and I think its going to finish around my budget of £200. Has anyone had any experience with this brand of machines.

I'm still using Windows 98 and Office 2000 small business edition. I'm yet to be convinced that being up to date is at all for my size of business! The benefits of updating your computer would be better security and better hardware support. Security: OS security is really only an issue if the machi...

WOW! Thats a long way from Beavis.

Did she say how long she was teaching this student before this was started?
She would have to be a miracle worker to get my drawings to look anything like Beavis.

My 3 year old daughter is starting to compete with me for the crayons atm.

It seems like a scam. There are quite a few threads on it over at The Grumble. It seems to be a lot more common over in the states than here. What will probably happen is that he will pay by cheque or draft but before it bounces the shipping company will have picked them up and you will be out of lu...

I found a obiturary for Lyndon Harris and it talks of his father Sidney as a collector but not an artist. Source

Always wanted to get to Stonehenge... Must take some time to do that when the summer starts! I'm off up to sunny Scotland at the end of this week. At least Ullapool has a chance of some sunshine. While I'm up there I'm going to be looking for jobs and houses within a commute to Glasgow. :) Then in 5...

If the threat is real or not who is to say, its a good excuse to have a party! :)

I think the next one should be Whale Aid to help the declining whale stocks or Hoodie Aid to help the young back into work. Although I don't think Japan will be joining in on the Whale one!
