Try Marvin Callender at We Love Acrylic. Really good guy to deal with and great team in the workshop. Used them several times and I know he uses UV acrylic.

Re: THAT FRIDAY FEELING!
Without a CMC it’s hard to compete with Fruitini’s amazing offering but thought I’d offer an RAF themed piece. Customer wanted a plain double mount, but offered the idea of a three colour inlay mount to match the colours on the RAF decals and he was really pleased with the result. Bit fiddly but nic...

Re: Sticking prints down..
Trying to stick prints to boards using self adhesive boards and a hand roller is tricky at the best of times and doesn't always bring good results. You need to be able to apply firm, even pressure across the whole board, which isn't always easy. The bells and whistles approach would be to get hold o...

Re: What do we do with left over pieces of mountboad in unpopular colours.
I probably won't convince Mark, but I've learned the hard way that the time spent chopping stuff up to make little frames that people only want to pay a few pounds for isn't worth my while. I'm now ruthless in getting rid of anything that I'm not going to use fairly quickly and concentrate on findin...

Try TGS Repairs on 07817 848324 and speak to Mark or Jamie Griffiths. They service Cassese machinery and may be able to advise by phone/WhatsApp. Failing that they have just taken on more field engineers and may well now cover NI.

I've used the PMDS25082 to fix thin canvas to display board using a JetMounter and seemed to work fine. Can't see any reason why it shouldn't work on any other smooth surface, MDF included.

Re: Dry mount plastic "canvas"?
I recently mounted some cheap prints that were printed on a flimsy, canvas like material to display board using double sided mount film and two passes through my Jet Mounter. I should stress that the items were cheap, easily replaced and the client wanted a basic Level 4 approach to the job. They bo...

No Nonsense fine surface filler from Screwfix works really well. Sands really easily and provides an excellent surface for painting. A small tub at £4.99 lasts ages.

Re: Trade priced frames for local artists.
I find that I am seeing quite a few artists who haven’t spent much in the last few years and they definitely divide into two camps. They are all a bit surprised at how prices have gone up lately but the more business minded clients then start talking about raising their own prices to mirror the new ...

I use Jamie Griffiths at TGS Repairs. He travels across the South and services all my equipment in one go. You'll find him at www.tgsrepairs.co.uk or on 07817 848324. Depends on what he's got on but he normally rolls a few visits together in the same area. He serviced my machinery a few months ago a...

Not much good for using with mounts, I would say. As it says at the foot of the page Please Note: This material is not suitable for use in front of a TV screen. This sheet of material is only clear when something is pressed directly to the back of it. If there is space in between, it can cause a fro...

Re: Pricing on mounts etc
I wouldn’t get involved. You’ll always find someone doing this kind of work cheaper and you’ll be forever chasing the lowest price to keep the business. The key is that the businesses who do this kind of thing can negotiate large discounts from their suppliers and work on a high volume, low margin b...

Re: Morso blade retaining bolt size.
Geoff, as a non-engineer I don’t know, but Mark Thornton at Underpinner Spares probably would. The other person to try is Neil Stout at www.framingengineer.com who is an expert on all things Morso. I wonder whether the comment about the quality of the steel involved on Mark’s advert is an issue, and...
