Re: Moulding ID

To be fair, the customer who brought this frame in, bought it very recently online - they now want something bespoke in a matching frame. It looks so clean and tidy.

Moulding ID

Evening all - anyone have any idea on what moulding this is and where it's from? The rebate is 30mm.

We want to use it for some army medals... It's not Arqadia, Simons, Mainline or Lion....

Cheers all who get back!

Re: Morso Cutting Problem

Hey David - how are you? The teeth and arm are both less than 12 months old, and as such are pretty immaculate. I think I've found the problem with regards to the 'spongy' feeling on the last and second to last cuts... It seems we have been treated to our blades being flat ground opposed to hollow. ...

Re: Morso Cutting Problem

Cheers Gents, cutting upside down on this is certainly a better way of doing it (fuming that I hadn't realised that before having to be told!). Seems to have taken the sponginess away too... Only thing left to ask, when cutting it upside down, I'm still being left with a minor gap on the inside of t...

Re: Tower of London ceramic poppy!

Any methods on attaching the poppy head into the frame, without the use of the supplied metal rod (stem).

Morso Cutting Problem

Afternoon all, Ok, we're having some issues with our Morso. It has a pair of newly sharpened (genuine) blades on, which are both sat on the machine flush, and pass through the fence enough to give a clean cut on the back edge. We're cutting an oak moulding, which we use regularly and have no problem...

Re: Framing a flag and a hat

Hey, this is one we did not too long back. Used a perspex dome and deep rebated moulding (a Simons moulding from the PHOE range [if I remember rightly])

I like the look of that Robo.

Here's an image of one that I did - in memorial of my best mate... Forgive the lighting.

Silent Compressor For Sale

We've upgraded to a larger compressor, so we are flogging our (1yr) old one.

According to google, these retail at £300+

It's a Sealey 9ltr silent compressor.

It's super quiet, and is absolutely fine for operating an underpinner.

Price £180

Collection from S45 Chesterfield.

Re: Separate Workshop to Retail Unit

Some very good points raised in both of those responses. In a nutshell, I left the army a yr and a half ago, and have had the business set up for just over a year. We've spent plenty of money so far on paper ads (local rag / A5 shopping brochures), leaflet drops, Yell.com (what a crock that is btw!)...

Separate Workshop to Retail Unit

Hi! We currently run our business from an industrial unit, which is separated into a workshop and gallery area. We are toying with moving to a shop on a high street, but the unit we are looking at isn't big enough to accommodate a workshop. There is a workshop nearby which is suitable, and at a good...

Re: Morson Cutting Problem

They were sharpened by Framers Equipment. They were hollow ground.

The solution to pinning it ended up being to turn down the pressure on the Alfa.

All ended up fine, but such a lot of arsing around for such a small job.

Re: Morson Cutting Problem

Managed it with the backing board behind the moulding trick - but then the bloody underpinner just started denting the hell out of it.

We've cracked it now, but safe to say, this particular range has now been taken off of our display!

Thanks guys!

Morson Cutting Problem

Hi all. We're having a slight issue with our Morso. We are trying to cut a piece of very soft moulding (Simons: CARI/13), but it seems as though the blade is dragging the wood out on the final cut down the back edge. It seems to be cutting everything else pretty spot on. We had a length swapped over...
