Mystery moulding

Does anybody recognise this moulding.

Not Lion, Wessex, R&H, Arqadia, Centrado or DJ Simons!

Re: Bits stuck under glass!

Dust is more likely to settle on a horizontal surface than a vertical one! I've never put a frame together while it's horizontal, I stand them up on a shelf, clean glass, pop it in, quick blast of air on inside of glass and face of artwork and in it goes. Squeeze together the small ones and lay on b...

Re: cutting an oval....

The principles here are exactly the same as cutting a circle. Even if you don't have a circle cutter. 1. Cut a template from some really thick card or mdf. Smooth/sand it all around, so that the cutter doesn't snag as you move it around. Cut a rectangle about 50mm larger than the oval you want. Stic...

Re: Using acrylic for the first time

1. Wipe the edges and front and back with a damp kitchen towel and then a dry one, before moving the film. This removes all the excessive dust left on the edges when it was cut, and on the protective films in transit. 2. Vacuum and/or air blow (compressed air) around your immediate working area. Aga...

Re: Advice Needed - 40 x 40 Inches Bespoke Round Frame

Hi MissStukki

I make round frames all the time. See http://zinc-white.co.uk/framing-gallery/Circular frames. In future, before purchasing, get in touch, I'm sure I can compete with your USA supplier any time. Cheers. Skinnymarinky. :)

Re: Box frame moulding

Do you want a moulding or a piece of wood???? If it's a moulding you're after, I recommend Rose And Hollis' A333 and extension A335 with spacers F15 and F5, I use them all the time, up to 103mm between face of back mount and underside of glass, brilliant. Elusive frame

Hello When I first saw this frame that a client wants matching I thought it would be a doddle, but it seems I am wrong! It's a small, pine reverse moulding but with a very distinctive simple curve into a small vertical face (about 9mm) on its outer edge. I've tried the usual suspects, Lion, Arqadia,...

Re: Framer's Bible?

Thanks for your feedback GeoSpectrum, you are correct there is some invaluable information on this forum, many of the technical issue posts are fascinating. Interesting that Prospero and Strokebloke both recommend Pete Bingham's book. This is clearly the one to get. Thanks for your help. Skinny

Framer's Bible?

Hi

Could anyone recommend a really practical and detailed book on framing. Business running and management issues are not required, just the practical stuff.

Thanks
