Re: Wavey Canvass
Like Jan and other framers of a certain age, I framed and sold hundreds of H K oils through the 80's :D I remember seeing them for the first time at the NEC, a mountain of them priced from around £2 for the small ones and so on. Initially, I framed them on stretchers but soon realised that much less...

Re: How's it hanging?
Not much to add to the already excellent advice from Justin/Steve N et al. With a larger frame I always "throw in" a couple of picture hooks, the double ones, along with an explanation and mark on the back of the frame a couple of crosses where the hooks should be driven in the wall....

Re: Seeking moulding
I have a short length of very similar if not the same and mine is a Larsan Johl moulding. I have had it for some time and should have dumped it by now. But I kept it just in case as I usually do

Good morning Mitreman :D It's more than a little windy here at the moment on the edge of the North sea. Thanks for the regular updates you post, they are much appreciated. Great news about you expansion plans at your showroom and I wish you every success. Because of your hard work you deserve succes...

Re: Cassese cs199 vs cs299
I have decided to upgrade to this second hand cs200. Although it has been well used it appears to be in excellent condition. Because these machines rarely come up for sale there is very little bench mark as regards price, therefore I'm not sure of what the second hand price should be. At least I do ...

Re: What do you use as a mounting board in your matted frame?
At the moment I am mainly using Peterborough Conservation mountboard as the undermount. I "book mount" most images. Some time ago one of the leading suppliers had this make of board on offer because they were discontinuing it. I recall asking on here if the price was right. Even at the off...

I should have added to my post I wear those white cotton gloves that Steve G mentions. They also prevent finger marks in you need to flip the glass over

Hi Mark When I said "customers always right" it was with tongue in cheek I did not expect anyone to take me seriously

Re: Wanted - Chevron Display
I think most framers make their own and if you do as Steve suggests you can do as I did once, hinge them on the wall so they fold back out of the way.

Re: Cassese cs199 vs cs299
Hi Justin
This thread has made me stop and think as I'm on the verge of upgrading to a cs200.
I would really appreciate your thoughts regarding the two machines you mention and the cs200. If anyone else wants to offer an opinion I would be very interested in hearing their thoughts.

Re: Glass cleaner
I'm using Nil Glass and those large blue kitchen type rolls (not the two ply ones, too flimsy) and finish off with a micro fibre cloth I buy from PEL. Very happy with the result.

Re: Large poster
I agree with prospero about the mount and I will leave it to him to suggest alternatives. I've recently completed a couple of frames a little larger than the one you are making. Both were stacked frames so quite strong. However, I made sub frames for both and found 3mm acrylic thick enough, cut to s...

I do the same as Steve. I was told to hold the moulding this way around forty five years ago and have never thought to hold it in any other way.

Re: Advice needed on sports shirt framing please.
I agree Justin  and only use a combination of stitches and tags and never any type of tape or glue. The colour range of threads available make concealing the stitches easy and tags can also be hidden. I find it more accurate to cut half the template for the inside of the shirt and then fold ove...

Looks a good machine to me at a good price. Two sets of blades are worth nearly that.
You have done the right thing by buying it :yes
