Re: Transferring an image onto mount board

If your printer can print onto mount board yes its possible, or you could just print onto paper then bond the print to mount board, you would get a better finish, I have done that a few times, then put that in the mount cutter and cut the mount. I'd wondered about doing it like this but wasn't sure...

Transferring an image onto mount board

I have had an enquiry about transferring a sporting image directly onto mount board, which would then form the background for the actual mount.
I know that it's possible to transfer an image onto canvas, but has anyone successfully done it onto mount board?

Thanks

Re: Waste bins

We have used Sita for the last eighteen months but will be on the lookout for a new contractor as they have been far too unreliable not turning up some weeks and we get the same excuse from their depot telephonist "sorry, running behind, might call tomorrow". That's no good to us when spac...

Re: Question on upgrading mount cutter.

The only disadvantage is space. You need somewhere for the cutter as well as the pc, screen and the magic box that makes it all work.

Re: Prints for sale

We have just received our batch of prints and was very impressed with the quality, so much so we mounted a couple straight away and within two hours had sold one making our small investment back in one sale.

Re: Using Polcore mouldings / tricky?

We use tons of Polcore moulding on all sorts of jobs from 5x7 pictures of kids to football shirts and manage to join it using the mainline super glue and prefer to use a 10mm wedge where on wood a 12mm wedge would be better. As has been said keeping the wedges well away from the outer edges is a mus...

Re: Renting a CMC

We lease/rent our Wizard from Framers Corner, they have all sorts of deals available.
Any problems we have had a quick phone call and it usually gets sorted straight away or a replacement bit is sent by courier overnight to us.
Give Sam a ring and I'm sure she will be able to sort you out.

So far this month we have had TWO Lion bars from one supplier, wonder what Mainline might send us for spending a small fortune with them this year?

Re: What bugs you?

We have the Wizard 8500E and the only niggle is occasionally the cut runs off which is rectified in minutes but an automatic type of tensioner would have been easier.

Re: Britmounts Closing Down

I believe they are transferring all current distributors accounts to Germany which shouldn't affect supply but instead of paying to Britmounts direct we will have to pay Wessex, Radius or whoever distribute their products but at their prices which in some cases is 100% more!

Britmounts Closing Down

Don't know how many use Britmounts on a regular basis but their facility at Huddersfield is to close next month and transferring all to their other company Crescent in Germany.

Re: Close gallery and use as a framing showroom?

We went the opposite way and altered the front of our shop from a reception area into a gallery with three print browsers and loads of stuff on the walls plus chevrons. Being very close to a passport office we do lots of passport pictures in our studio which is through the back of the shop and upsta...
