But don't just rest on your laurels though, why be satisfied with one popular thread, start a few more? :)

Thanks for the link Mike, to yet another fascinating poll on The Grumble. What I find interesting is that while we embrace technology and are convinced that we probably would not survive without it, it must be acknowledged that there are many very successful framing businesses out there that seem to...

I know that I'm going to kick myself for this robo, but your response has me intrigued. insert the missing word .........'a bit of knowledge' is ........... ? I am not a hundred percent sure of where this word is to be inserted, so have turned to Google to see how the phrase might be completed. This...

Ah Robo, you seem to have missed the point somehow. It’s when selling to the END USER that a bit of knowledge about how your product is actually used is so useful. I’m sure that this kind of expertise doesn’t matter a jot when selling to someone who is just passing your product on without adding any...

I think that I can see how John's table supports the legs of the frame as they are being pinned. However, I can't quite see how John's table gives support to the two sides in the underpinner. Perhaps John could enlighten me with a diagram, or even another photo. But now that I look again, even John'...

Here is the UK site for this product. They have provided a video demo in both PC and Mac formats. My Media Player ran the wmv file with sound only, no picture, but I was able to have both when I played it on Irfanview. With a bit of practice, Glamour II could be the right solution for Mike. Not for...

Perhaps, we framers have overestimated our importance to the Guild. Does anybody know what percentage of the Guild's income is derived from the subscriptions of the ordinary rank and file framer member? And could it survive without the framers? I had the impression that there must be a deliberate po...

I can see that your efforts are being somewhat deflected, but they have taken on a new member of staff whose main role is to increase members (presumably because the numbers are falling)... If they were to come here, they will get loads of advice on where they have gone wrong, but can we give them ...

When writing to Christrose, you obviously omitted the BFA (hons) SGF from your signature, robo.

It's the only explanation I can think of for such a reply, she obviously is unaware of the caliber of person with whom she is dealing.

To encourage membership, one thing that we all can do is be a bit more welcoming to newcomers who are making their first post. The first post can be quite daunting for some. They are often afraid of rejection, or making a fool of themselves for asking a stupid question. A few words of encouragement ...

stick

framers forum

into google.

It gets second place listing on the first page of results.

But what I was trying to say earlier is that the forum comes up often when searching for framing related stuff. I just can't imagine it being being missed by framers over the course of a few googles.

Dermot, your 'hit counter' if set correctly should be recording unique hits, in other words you should have had had six visitors to your site yesterday rather than one individual who opened the same page six times. The view counter is a different animal. In response to an email sent to you, and all ...

I like markw's idea of an article, and I'm sure that Robo could put together an entertaining and informative piece about fora and what a great resource they can be for us framers. I believe that there is a cultural reason why we do not have a 'Grumble'. In comparison to us, our American cousins are more open. They will disclose their innermost thoughts at the drop of a hat, and they will also readily share their knowledge and experience with others. The Brits, on the other ha...

Your erroneous comment about Oz forum and US grumble just shows that you have very little knowledge in that area and so perhaps it would have been wiser not to have made any comment at all. I do have a lot of knowledge on both so if you have any questions, please ask! What ever happened to the Oz f...

When you find yourself at the bottom of a great big hole that you have dug for yourself, stop digging. The rationalisation of your boorish response to a beginners query is doomed to failure. Stop trying to re-interpret your initial answer. That was no way to treat a newcomer to the forum and to fram...
